I smoked KOOL's and Camel Menthol Lights for a decade but quit in August. I originally switched to menthol cigarettes so people wouldn't bum so many smokes from me. It was amazing I switched to menthol my friends stopped asking.

I too hate second hand smoke with a passion. Most of my best friends smoke and when I got my own place noone would visit me becuase I wouldn't allow smoking in my place, even though they could smoke on the porch.

I will not even consider dating a smoker because even though they might be a great person and I may be thoroughly attracted to them, I hate the smell of smoke (I actually can't breath around it, it's more that than the smell), I don't like the way someone's mouth tastes and I end up hating the person because of this habit. I'm very into breath and if your breath is smoky, I don't want it.

The only cigarette I ever had was a New Port light..with menthol.

I tried it because I was curious, and my brother had a couple packs home alone. I'd seen my father and brother do it all their lives, so I thought I'd see what the big deal was. I smoked a cigarette. The menthol tasted decent, but I didn't see the big deal. I was 13 then, and haven't smoked since. I've experienced it. No big deal.

Smoking is almost always more than a "habit," it's usually an addiction. There is no other "legal" product, when used "as directed," that has claimed more lives. What a waste. What stupidity.

I am completely blown away by the lack of embarrassment and defiance among smokers, especially those who claim to know the risks. The old timers got hooked before the truth was known.

Of course, most people don't smoke, and most find it completely repulsive. That doesn't stop the average smoker from standing in front of doorways leading into nonsmoking structures or stores, throwing their stinky butts on the sidewalk or out of their car windows, and my favorite, holding their lit cigarette at arms length from themselves and blowing the smoke out of the side of their mouths (toward someone else!) in order to avoid their own stench.

Take it into a closet somewhere. Throw your butts in an appropriate receptacle. Better yet, get a clue and quit! Smoking will make you sick, age faster, and feel old. Life as a cardiac or pulmonary cripple really does suck! Trust me, you'll want those last 20 years of life to feel good, and you may even get to see your children and grandchildren grow up.

The last girl I was talkin to is a chronic smoker and I would confiscate any smoking paraphernalia or cigarettes if she ever made the mistake of pulling it out in my presence. By the end of the summer alone I had bags full of single cigarettes and several new unopened cartons.

A friend of mine has smoked for years & can't seem to let it go despite quitting twice before. I'm horrified when I see what it's doing to her face (bad, saggy skin) & overall health (phlegm ALL the time, bad circulation which is leading to all kinds of shit). She complains constantly about different things I feel are tied to her smoking for so long, but she wouldn't dare associate the problems with her habit. I hate watching it, I wish I could help her quit...
