Beverly Hills Cop IV??

Maybe this was asked before, I don't know. But I read that they gonna do another Beverly Hills cop movie. The third one wasn't that great and now if this is true, i'm apprehensive about the new one. Apparently Brett Ratner (director from Rush Hour) is in charge of this. Man, he has had so many projects that I hear about that never get off the ground so God knows how this will turn out or when it's coming out.

Is this just a rumour or another pipe dream? And if they are doing another BHC movie, are they gonna have the original cast?shrug I love the BHC series (except the third one; it wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. John Landis, that was NOT your best work! razz), but maybe this is just going too far.

Why can't they just leave the classics alone?

Please no, Eddie Murphy is nearly 50 and hes tired now. The last thing we need is a 50 year old dude living up to that tired 80s stereotype of a black streetwise cop who says motherfucker every second word. Number 3 was dreadful, even Number 2 wasn't as good as the first.

My Ratings

Beverly Hills Cop cool cool cool cool cool

Beverly Hills Cop 2 biggrin biggrin biggrin and a half

Beverly Hills Cop 3 confused confused

Beverly Hills Cop 4 eek ?

Yuck. No more Beverly Hills Cop, no more Rush Hour and no more Rambo's. Sick of all these tired ass sequels. The only thing worse than a sequel is a prequel. Like really? Who cares what happened decades prior to the fuckin' story we're watching now. confused

I love that "How much for some Bananas"

Damon Wayans Playing some gay serving dude "The fruit buffet is $14.95, you get bananas, peaches, plums ...."

Axle F "I just want some bananas"

Damon "Here take those bananas" lol

The funniest part was the whole Michael Jackson scene

"Michael Jackson can sit on top of the world, just as long as he don't sit in the Beverly Palm hotel because there ain't no nxxxxrs allowed" lol

Part IV sequels of action films USUALLY suck: John Rambo (gorefest), Die Hard 4.0 (disbelief), Indiana Jones and the KOTCSkull (wall), Lethal Weapon IV (neutral ), Terminator Salvation (headache), etc...

the only Part IV sequel that was "decent" was Sudden Impact (Dirty Harry IV), mainly because of the "Make my day" line and the sleazy storyline about the two raped sisters...

and now I've heard that George Miller is gonna ruin the Mad Max legacy with a tired ass remake/prequel hybrid of the original Mad Max I neutral wall, hope it bombs...

but, who knows? if BV Cop IV is gritty and funny at the same time, with kick-ass action sequences and a worthwhile script, it could (perhaps) resurrect Eddie's career...but Brett Ratner?? man oh man dead the guy who nearly destroyed the X-Men trilogy?? the guy who turned Jackie Chan into a harmless/clumsy teddy bear??? No, just no... dead

If Sly Stallone can make "Rocky 600" ...come on Sly has 2 be at least 204 yrs old . I understand they want 2 try and bring back the good ol days of Bev. Cop, Rambo, Rocky etc. I can't believe movie studios put up the money 4 all this crap . Well we have Fake ass Reality Shows so Y not. I myself am an Eddie Murphy fan and what better way 2 get that money and the laughs back , than 2 do another BHC movie plus his last few movies sucked xxxcept 4 Norbit Life the Nutty's Dream Girls and maybe a few more . He needs 2 get that edge back 4get the Disney flicks . I want that 84-89 Eddie Murphy.....that Raw/Delirious stand ups woould hurt none either.

I must respectfully disagree with your assertions of Die Hard 4.0. That movie actually surprised me because it was good. I waited until it came out on DVD to watch it(somebody else's by the way) because I thought seeing it in the theaters would be a waste of money. I regretted my decision. Beverly Hills Cop IV would be a "piece of shit" idea since, as everyone else has stated, part III was sooooo full of shit, a fourth installment couldn't do a damn thing for the franchise.

I admit that 4.0 was a "decent" action film and the best Die Hard sequel (best than the borefest of part 2, and the impossible part 3 with Samuel L Jackson cracking jokes and surviving a storm of bullets, wtf), but I heavily disliked the fact that in part 4.0 NOBODY remembers who is McClain (best cop of all time, no less confused ), the fact that his wife and daughter hate him despite being a fuckin' hero, and the fact that the movie was FULL of CGI pirotecnics...on top of that, the villian was soooo bland (a nerdy PC genius with an evil Asian girlfriend ??? neutral ) no, just no, I'll stick with the original Die Hard only, that's all I need, McClain kills the terrorists, saves his wife and gets his 15 minutes, end of the story, no sequels...

SuperFunk59

Is there no originality left in Hollywood anymore??

Jesus, what the movie going public really needs is an aging Axel Foley running about Beverly Hills probably with a hip, new, young (read-annoying) sidekick in a tired rewrite of a rejected Rush Hour script !!!

The 1st movie was and still is a classic and they should have left it at that, but oh no, and as the studio are looking for a quick buck, they ressurect a character that ran out of steam 5 minutes into the second film!!!! (and the less said about 3 the better!!)

I'm gonna go and watch the first movie again and pray 4 never comes to fruition.
