Lately, I find myself being fascinated with Spanish. Don't ask me how or where that came from, but the words sound pretty when spoiken in the Spanish language. I find myself wanting to learn the language. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Oh there are lots of things that fascinate me that don't fascinate others. At first glance things might seem uninteresting but when you take your time and delve into things properly, they usually become very fascinating in their own right. That's why I'm usually inquisitive when I meet people who do things I don't know much about.
A recent example is that I'm having my bathroom renovated and to learn about plumbing and tiling and how to seal things up to prevent mold etc is actually very interesting.
The other day I talked to an acquaintance who taps maple trees and makes his own syrup, and I found that whole process incredibly fascinating.
And when a female friend recently described the finer details of PMS in all its many versions, I found that totally interesting too.
So to summarize, I guess I'm weird.

Yeah, and my friend said to me the other day that there must be a chemist in me because I kept talking about how to make things, but I just like to experiment because it's fun to me.

Gruesome murders and rapes. I dig and dig for photos and descriptions, the more horrible the better, until I feel disgusting and have to stop.
DNA.
Anything about how the human body works, but I suppose that's not weird. Gross to some people, maybe.

Do it, Nancy! There are tons of Spanish speakers on Cleveland's West Side near you. You're in a great spot to learn! Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

My cousin sent me an email this morning with the warning about texting while driving with accompanying photographs of the consequences. OMFG! If you're interested, I'll send you the link.

OK!
It's not so much accidents that fascinate me, though. It's more the cruelty and brutality humans are capable of. [Edited 10/4/10 15:34pm]

I love Microbiology and I'm currently studying it...did you know 31 new species of bacteria have been identified on your teeth?

Not really weird, but musicians fascinate me.... I love music, (obviously), but don't play any instruments.
I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to learn to play, and have halfheartedly tried to learn more than once, but always something comes up....
So, I admire from afar. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I liked the Swamp Thing cartoon back in the day, and used to watch the live action series before that.
He also had some cool toys when I was little.

I'm easily fascinated by all sorts of things, but some of the quirkier ones that have lingered...
* The directions north and east * Canada (I recall telling myself in Grade 2 that I'd move here one day! ) * Little-known places * People who don't like me * People who've very recently died * Male body hair * Women who are simultaneously beautiful and deadly * The phenomenon of abandonment * Provencal and Tuscan architecture and design * The cusp of summer and autumn * Sunday afternoons * Androids (particularly female) and artificial intelligence that becomes self-aware

I thought I was a freak or something because I'm also fascinated by the macabe. When I worked in the hospital, our lab was next to the morgue. I asked permission to observe an autopsy and got to see 2 in one day, an old woman and a baby about 18 months old.
