That's what happened to me today, and it's so weird not to be able to taste anything. I don't even feel hungry at all, but just ate a little bit of food for sustenance. I'll be glad when my sense of taste comes back, because it's weird not being able to taste anything.

My mother did due to a bad cold.

She's been getting sense of taste back gradually over time.

I had a blast anyway ~ not gonna let a cold keep me from that I'm the type to push through things and not focus on blah of it ~ specially on VACATION !

Yeah I think it was when I was around 17 or 18. I had a FEELING for the taste of food but not like I did before and it was a bad cold too. It returned back when the cold/infection went away.

It happens to me everytime I catch a cold. Usually because I'm all congested. I've started taking Mucinex now when I get congested and it works and works fast!!! It's a bit pricy for over-the-counter medication but it is worth every mucus busting cent.

My brother uses Mucinex too, he seems to like it. Maybe I should try taking it (it can't hurt, at this point).

I have been using in for for 3 nights now ( I go drug free during the day ) and it HAS made a big difference !

No. Thank goodness! But I know people who have during the sickness. Never any who continued having a problem afterward.

No, but I absolutely hate the taste of most food when I'm sick. Hardly anything seems edible.

My sense of taste is coming back (thank goodness!) Now I have laryngitis - lol! Never a dull moment. Bought some cough medicine today, since I've been coughing a lot lately. I'm going to kick this no matter what!

My kid has enlarged adenoids and a deviated septum (poor little mite ) and as a result he snores and is a mouth breather. He isn't very interested in food. Not surprising. He is such a skinny little thing

post nasal drip can irritate the throat long after your sinusitis or virus goes away. My kids is coughing so much he pukes sometimes
