The Simpsons or Family Guy ?

The Simpsons or Family Guy, Which animated series is your favorite and/or do you like them both ? I like both. The Simpsons is my favorite since 1989.

Thank you for your responses and the pictures! I thought I was the only one who liked those cartoons a little too much.

Definitely The Simpsons. Love their style of humour. Sadly, last 6 or 7 series are..well..crap.

Both. I just prefer Family Guy now 'cause it goes for the joke not the story.

The Simpsons all the way. Family Guy is too crude and the jokes are too random. I don't like or care about the characters either.

That's it in a nutshell for me.

The Simpsons is not only brilliant, hilarious and socially relevant, it's got a heart. fallinluv

Overall the Simpsons by a mile. Probably my favorite show ever.

But lately? I can't stand to watch a formerly great show that has declined so much.I don't know when the Simpsons jumped the shark, maybe when Maude died? But is is just not funny anymore, and its political agenda has gotten in the way of the entertainment. Every show still has a laugh or two. but overall it is actually not a clever or subtle show anymore. The story I saw recently about the Muslim familiy was painful in it's obvious attemts to say "muslims are okay!" It reminds me of what some people say Prince is doing to his legacy--polluting it with crap. But at least Prince's new music doesn't get played next to 1999 on the radio.

And Family Guy is pretty damn funny, once I got past how hard they try to offend and make cultural references at every turn. I would like a Stewie & Brian spinoff.

yeahthat

Also I can watch a little of the Simpsons with my 8 year old in the room. I cringe when she channel surfs and lands on Family Guy.

(I also love Lisa - alot).

true, I like Family Guy, but I don't think it should be a cartoon on regular TV. They show the reruns at 7 at night, talking about raping women and sex with animals and all kinds of filth that is funny, but not around all kinds of company.

That is why I didn't like it for a long time, it tried too hard to be offensive.

SuperFunk59

Even though the last few seasons of The Simpsons have been below par, they still stand head and shoulders over Family Guy and all it's spin off shows.

Family Guy's just going for the crude joke or reference to get a laugh and so Seth McFarlane can show off his singing voice in nearly every episode!!!

The Simpsons came first and will still be around loooong after Family Guy is a forgotten re-run.

Simpsons and Furturama.

I find Family Guy either too predictable or too random without actually being funny. The only people I know who love it are stoners. lol

Although I have visited Simpons land, including our own Spinlight (Chris) from the Org. If you only knew how spot on some of these were in comparison to the actual people they were based on. My roommate, Brian, is 5'2, and is the short one w/ the Jew-fro.

This pretty much sums up my feelings. I'll add Stewie was the character who put me off initially, now he's possibly my favourite character.
