Ripping a CD on to an iPod

As a lot of people already know, when you do this you do not get the artwork. Unlike when you purchase from the iTunes store.

Is there a way around this?

2 ways.

Right click on the song (or if it's an entire album, highlight all the songs of the album by pressing CTRL + A, in this case, right click on ANY song out of the highlighted ones)

Then you have two options

1. Click the "Get Album Artwork" option, which will automatically put the album artwork with the song you right clicked on (or if you're getting the artwork for an entire album, it will add the artwork to every song you have highlighted).

2. If you have a picture of the album saved on your computer, instead of clicking "Get Album Artwork", you click "Get Info. Once you choose "Get Info" a small window will open which contains the song's info (or unless it's an entire album, it will have display the info for all the songs you have highlighted in this window). When this window pops up, you will be under the"Summary" tab. Click on the very last tab which says "Artwork". Then it will show an empty box with two options. "Add" and "Delete". Click "Add" and like I said, if you have a picture of the album saved on your computer, this is where you choose the picture because clicking on the "Add" option will take you to a window in which you browse through the pictures on your computer. After you've selected your picture, click "OK" and you're done.

The first way to get the album artwork will ONLY work if the album you are trying to get the artwork for is available on iTunes. If not, you'll need to do the second way I explained. I have plenty of CDs that aren't iTunes, so I usually just go to Google Image Search to get the album covers for albums not available on iTunes.

I hope you understand and aren't confused. It may look like a lot but it's actually easy and only takes a few seconds to do.

You can put any image you like against an album or track. Just google search image, find one you like, right click and save and then do step 2 above.

Actually, in that case, you're likely to get a random Prince Jammy cover art if you're not careful.

Good sources for better album artwork than what iTunes supplies: http://www.albumartexchan...covers.php

If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Jammy?

Yeah you reminded me that iTunes assigned cover art from reggae/dub artist Prince Jammy to some of my non-iTunes Prince mp3s.
