Yeah, don't think that will ever happen. I'm trying to convince him to sell it now but he wants to wait until it appreciates a bit more.

It actually appreciates? Must be some kind of special limited edition then?

I'm trying to figure out what the best age for a car is in terms of price/value. Maybe five years old? Then it's past the steepest decline in price but is still new enough to feel pretty modern.

I haven't driven a manual since we sold our old bomb in the late 90s

Yes, it is appreciating. It actually is a limited edition (only 12 in Canada, 200 in the US) and it is now considered a classic...and it's in near mint condition. It's no longer going down in value, it's going up. They are very hard to find but last year one sold for just under 10k US.

I learned how to drive on a manual. That was a few times a month over about 8 months, then my mom bought a new car which was automatic. That was a little over 6 years ago. Since then I've only driven automatic. I've wanted to see if I could still drive stick but I haven't met anyone who has one for me to try.
