I can no longer count on both hands the times I've had conversations with them while they try to convert me via pamphlets. I'll take their Watchtowers, and I'll read them. I'll discuss religion with them as long as they can take it (which is usually not very long). I went to my local Kingdom Hall to get a NWT to add to the shelf of other biblical works of fiction after everybody started talking about JWs at the NPGMC. I showed up right after services and they were ALL very nice people. If they came to my door and I interested at the moment, we would talk. If they came to my door and I was busy I would say, "no thank you, I'm busy, have a nice day" etc. If they made it difficult I would close the door in their faces and not feel bad about, even if they had a porch full of kids with them.

In short, I would treat them no different than I treat anybody else, because that's the way I roll. I understand that they don't treat people the same way. I understand that they don't accept all walks of life. I understand that they have some views that offend people. For better or worse, no matter how it makes them look in the eyes of their neighbors, that's the way they've chosen to live their lives. I don't judge them for it, I don't think it's my place to do so. But I WILL ask them a quick succession of questions that leaves them uncomfortable and wanting to walk away as fast as possible. It's my hope that this tactic gives them something to think about, which was their intended goal when they approached me to begin with. Turn about is fair play and all that.

I think you missed my point a little. I find people annoying in general and I don't think JW are worse than anybody else. If it bugs you that much then slam the door in their faces and be done with it. I wouldn't judge you badly for that, either.

Oh, and I would never let them in. I'll chat with them at the door if they like. Most of my interaction has actually been entering or leaving public transportation compounds. They chill in the parking lot and offer Watchtowers to people as they try to dodge them like they're playing a video game.

See I was talking to this one lady and she seemed nice, but evidently she got all her JW friends coming round now too. I give everyone the evil eye. Some (hell most) days I'm trying to rest and folk I don't know just keep knocking and knocking....do you want your lawn mowed, do you need Jesus, do you want blah blah blah. I'm like Arrrrrgh! go 'way. And it's right when you get good and comfy too.

For this exact reason I've been wanting to keep a packet of corn syrup, died deep red, by the door... they knock, syrup goes on hands (looks just like blood!) and I answer the door grinning maniacally...

I dont believe for one moment that if Prince came to your door you would even consider any of the rudeness or violence that you are speaking of- I think it is org policy to talk badly of Jehovah's Witnesses- why?- I haven't figured it out yet since a good percentage here are highly tolerant of other peoples choices which can at times can be seen as degrading and far from beneficial to a positive human experience. Threads can be locked when asking simple questions about "lifestyles" but..........
