'40-Year-Old Virgin' Actor Convicted of Attempted Murder Shelley snapped...........:
Shelley Malil was found guilty of attempted murder for stabbing his girlfriend more than 20 times in 2008 ZUMA Press Actor Shelley Malil, who is best known for his role as Steve Carell's coworker in the hit 2005 comedy The 40-Year-Old Virgin, was convicted of attempted murder on Thursday for stabbing his girlfriend Kendra Beebe more than 20 times. Malil, 45, testified in his own defense in the San Diego Superior Court. The actor claimed he mistook Beebe for someone else attacking him in the dark. But the jury, composed of seven men and five women, did not buy the story. Malil had arrived at Beebe's house on Aug. 10, 2008 to find her in her backyard with another man (musician David Maldonado). Prosecutors said at that point Malil had approached Beebe and stabbed her with a steak knife. She suffered serious injuries, but survived the attack.

Naaah....just god ol´ fashioned jealousy. How can it be a socalled "honor killing" if she wasn´t his wife and also no longer a virgin anymore?

I'm still trying to figure out how you go to a person's house, find them and stab them 20 times and then claim you thought YOU were being attacked by an intruder. | |

maybe he felt she dishonored him by having another man? Were they engaged or just shacking up?
I´m not familiar with Indian customs and traditions ( nor do I think that they really played a part in this tragedy ) but if he felt she dishonored him by having another man, then he should reconsider that stance because how can a woman "dishonor" you when you aren´t even supposed to live in a premarital or exmarital relationship. Just doesn´t make sense. It looks like a plain old murder out of passion and jealousy. Just because his parents are from India doesn´t necessarily make it an "honor" killing, that´s all I´m saying.
