Do u enjoy movies more when u have expectations or no expectations? Almost every single time I see a movie that I expect 2 be good.........I don't enjoy the movie as much as I "thought" I would. Conversely, if I have low expectations, I'm aften surprised at how good the movie is. Does this happen 2 u? I recently saw the Prince of Persia with very little expectaions and it turned out 2 be really good. I saw the Clash of the Titans and I could not believe how poor the movie was.
Maybe it is just me, but expectations seem 2 be getting in my way of just enjoying the movie 4 what it is.

Yeah, expectations usually play a part. I saw The Swimmer with no expectations whatsoever and was totally blown away. Same thing with Naked. I'm still sure I would have liked those movies with high expectations but maybe not quite as much.
On the other hand when I went to see Matrix I had very high expectations but it still surprised me in a positive way and I saw the Clash of The Titans remake that you mentioned with very low expectations and was still negatively surprised, so that can happen too.

I can usually ignore most hype based expectations (good or bad) and watch any movie objectively. Occasionally I'll get caught up in what I've read or heard and that changes the perspective a little. But when it's personal expectations it definitely affects the way I watch a movie. I wanted the LOTR trilogy to be bad ass beyond what I'd ever thought I would see on screen. For me, it was! So from about 10 minutes into the first film until the last ending of the third one I was a happy, grinnin' fool! But I also wanted Watchmen to be that good and it failed for me. I left the theater after watching that movie tired and grumpy. Whereas a great movie experience leaves me energized and super smiley.

I had to double check your screen name twice when I noticed that your post consist of an actual paragraph instead of your usual one-liner
I took my daughter & niece to see Avatar & Karate Kid after a long session of nagging, and I ended up enjoying those movies too. I agree, its easier to enjoy a flick when you don't know what to expect.

Now why would you even think that Clash of the Titans was gonna be a good movie?

It's watchable on Blu-Ray, without the post-production 3D conversion.

It may not apply to this particular movie but is it me or has blu ray fucked it up for movies with semi-passable but sub-par special effects??

I think it depends on the movie at this point. But I agree that it hasn't helped a lot of them. With old movies it really depends on the transfer. If they just take the DVD transfer and throw it on a Blu-Ray it tends to look like crap. But if they go back to the original film stock, create a new transfer and then do further restorations and adjustments to that it can make an old movie into something completely different than what you remember. Depth of field in particular sometimes just leaves me with my jaw dropped going, "wooooow". Even the best movies have always looked mostly flat to me, but Blu-Ray changes that.
In regards to this particular movie, if you saw it at home on any format and you hated it, well, that's your opinion and it's respected. But I saw this sucker in the theater and it was one of the worst movie going experiences of my life. It LOOKED so bad that I couldn't really pay full attention to what was going on. I couldn't focus. Turns out the 3D was ALL done in post AND it was rushed. Not ONE FRAME of the movie was actually FILMED in 3D. The studio was just being greedy, trying to grab the extra cash from inflated 3D ticket prices. I gave it another chance and watched it at home (because I could borrow it ). It's still not great, but it's a WAY better than I thought it was upon leaving the theater.
