Lance Briggs: Locker room is for men
I'm going 2 have 2 agree with Lance.
LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs reiterated his stance Thursday that female reporters don't belong in a men's locker room.
"No, I don't regret what I said," Briggs said, referring to a Wednesday interview with NBC Chicago. "My statement is that the men's locker room is for men. Just like the women's locker room is for women. "I meant no disrespect to [the NBC reporter or] any women in our locker room, because we've never had any problems in our locker room. The fact that there is an issue over a woman in the men's locker room, to me is ridiculous. I don't think there should ever be a problem in the men's locker room. That's our realm."

He must read Twilight with that anti-feminist mentality.
I'm firmly planted in denial

I don't disagree with him. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Yes, I do...but I do not think interviews should be done in locker rooms at all. I don't care if athletes don't want to be bothered to come to a press area. They sure would start to care if reporters just stopped coming to them and they no longer got any airtime.

How about the "locker room celebration"? Like when a team wins the championship etc?
I like seeing those celebrations, but otherwise agree that interviews in the locker room are not necessary. I'm firmly planted in denial

Ex-Moderator | If female reporters aren't allowed, then male reporters can't be allowed either. It's an either/or.
I'm all for keeping all but team personnel out of the locker room. I don't really care either way. |

Lance is telling the truth, but of course our pussified society can't handle the truth, and he'll get fined by the league.

That makes no sense.
A man isn't allowed into a womens locker room and I think it should go both ways.
You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

Do they all shower together in the NBA? I've always thought communal showers were weird.

Folks getting their panties in a bunch for the sake of so what if he said "women don't belong in the men's locker room"?

Ex-Moderator |
Male reporters are.
|
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
It's true. Male reporters shouldn't be in women's locker rooms, either.
Why do we, as Americans, argue the shit out of the most simple shit?

I'd like 2 know that as well.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
completely agree. no one should be conducting interviews in locker rooms, imo

i agree with that. if one gender is permitted in, the other should be as well.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I NEVER understood why cameras and reporters, of any gender, are allowed in locker rooms. Are male reporters and cameras allowed in female locker rooms???

In the WNBA, yes. Here's an example:

Those interviews are probably pre-arranged. Show me a video of a shirtless woman as she's just stepped out of the shower then it's the same thing.
