mobile phone experts ?

my mobile phone contract is due to end soon.....i fancy getting an android phone....mainly looking at a 'wildfire' as a cheaper option or the 'desire' as a better allround phone but a bit more than i would like to pay monthly....so any suggestions ?....is the 'desire' worth the extra or would the 'wildfire' be fine.....or some other android phone ?....

Hey there BB,

The Wildfire is a great little Android for £20 a month contract. The processor is slower than the desire, and the screen is relatively wider. The Wildfire uses a standard TFT LCD screen, while the HTC Desire uses an AMOLED display. The differences are HUGE!!

AMOLED offers better contrast and brightness, so colours look more vivid and blacks are blacker. The HTC Desire’s screen boasts 384,000 pixels thanks to its 800×480 resolution, while the HTC Wildfire has just 76,800 — that’s a fifth of the amount.

The HTC Desire is, predictably, more powerful and consequently quicker. The HTC Wildfire uses a 528MHz processor while the HTC Desire is blessed with the super-quick 1GHz Snapdragon, used in a handful of top smartphones. The Desire also has more RAM — 512MB against 384MB.

Both the HTC Wildfire and HTC Desire are great Androids. For video watching, the extra screen resolution is a must, and is very useful for many apps that have fiddlier interfaces.

BUT the HTC Wildfire is worth serious consideration. It lacks some of the HTC Desire’s star quality, but remains one of the most capable mid-range Androids around.

Hope this HELPS!!

I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, I love it!

We're waiting on the update to the current Android OS, Froyo 2.2....but it still kicks much ass. I think it is the best looking Droid phone, and better looking than the iphone IMO.

Go with an iphone. They are made well and are awesome. I'm currently stuck in a shitty contract with Verizon and I hate my blackberry. Damn thing is always freezing up on me and shutting down in the middle of the night. I hear that the Droid is a pain in the ass too. Iphone Iphone Iphone!!!

I have a 3GS and I've had the iPhone since the GEN1 and I'm kinda bored with mine. Thinking of killing my contract and going to Verizon to get that DROID II. Cool lookin' phone and the DROID X looks hot ...

Peace ... & Stay Funky ...

Ugh don't do it. Verizon sucks. Their phones are so cheap, even the Droid. The only good thing about Verizon is they usually have service everywhere, AT&T has dead zones.

Actually Motorola is responsible for the contruction of the DROIDs not Verizon ... Thanks for the feedback, though ...

FauxReal

These phone threads really are making my choice of a new phone difficult. I guess in the end I'll go with Verizon since I get a discount there. And if I'm going with Verizon, might as well go with Droid X. The HTC EVO is appealing though. As is the phone JerseyKRS posted. I like the look of it.
