This misses vs womens is confusing! When I shop I just eyeball and then try on, I don't really bother with sizes. It's all messed up anyway. I can shop plus and misses, I especially love plus tops because they are long enough to wear as a dress.

But one thing I noticed in the states is the sizes tend to run larger than here. When I shop at an American chain store, I need to drop down to a size 10.

However, with European sizes, you have to go with a bigger size and that really makes you feel like shit.

This is good to know. I was just about to buy a pair of over the knee boots from Korea...I think I'll pass now. I'm sure my fat ass legs won't fit in them now.

we have the same sizing scale here from 8 onwards, whether it's for younger women or older women. The plus ones are just the bigger sizes.

I think in this sparsely populated country, where clothing manufacturers have little choice to but supply average sizes, and since who the hell is average build, we are a nation wearing ill fitting clothes

mine too he is 10, wears same size shoes as me already (38) and is only a head shorter than me and closing fast

The pediatrician told me judging by the size of his feet when he was 6 weeks old, he would be at least 6'3" as an adult. I believe it

They only go up to a 16 and their sizes tend to be standard fit. Much better quality than most other shops like Forever 21 which runs too small usually. Ann Taylor Loft and New York & Company are also good places to shop. Again, make sure you use the fitting rooms as you're probably still getting used to your new frame. Been there, I understand.

hmmm... I wonder if it's different depending on where you are in the world. Here they are fairly standard to regular department store sizes. Of course, there are always variations from store to store in all sizing, but I find H&M to be close to the majority of places I shop.

As I said, US sizes are larger than Canadian sizes, so for us, the sizes run big.

Totally. But I see that maybe that is really the case with most US stores. I always found it odd when I would see an American say they were, say a size 8 and they look at least a 12 to me.

I just thought H&M ran large in general, but guess not.

Jess forced me to buy myself a new pair of jeans this weekend ( now the only pair I own ! )

I was not going to get them as they are pretty form fitting ( no not TIGHT, like too small )

I usually don't wear form fitting ~ I like loose clothes

she said they looked great on me so I trusted that

in a weird way ... being fatter ( i'm still fat ) seemed easier when it comes to clothes

Canadian sizing might be more like Australian then, I wear a 12-14 here and am probably 8-10 US
