I'm not defending young dude cuz I wasn't there and there's not enough audio, but you can be old and be an asshole. You can be a lady and be an asshole. Neither, IMO deserve respect just on age if they don't show it. Unfortunately you tend to look like the ass by standing up for yourself sometimes (again, not saying that's this young dude's case).

You can't just tell someone's an idiot by body language. Pretty much all the men, and women for that matter, on both sides of my family (Italian and Puerto Rican) make exaggerated gestures like that.

A lot of that shit is just cultural or regional. That's like watching a video with no audio and assuming a woman is ignorant or "ghetto" cuz she neckrollin.

Yes of course. Just because you're used to that kind of stuff doesn't make it any less threatening. It signals aggression on a very primal level. See how an animal would react if you did it to them.

They did eventually turn away but he kept on and on, and it might well be something he said at that point that riled up the old man because the second before he looked like he was about to sit down with his wife. Either way I do think there's something to be said for showing respect for an elderly couple. So what if they're annoying? After having lived a long life they deserve a display of courtesy from inexperienced punks.

Ok, if we start reacting to other people (assholes or not) like animals, we're in deep deep shit.

So what if he kept runnin his mouth after they eventually turned? If they still had an issue they needed to call security over, not lay their hands on someone. If you do that and you end up tumblin down a few rows when the other dude didn't get physical, that's on you.

And we will agree to disagree on what age entitles a person. Once again, I want to make it clear that I don't condone the young dude being an asshole, he probably was, but older folk don't just get carte blanche just cause they've lived. People deserve the respect with which they treat others, plain and simple.
