Proof of prior addresses, but I haven't rented an apartment in 15-ish years so maybe you don't need that anymore.

I'm firmly planted in denial

In Sweden we don't even use checks. We either use cash, card or online transfer. I honestly can't think of a single situation when I wish I'd had a checkbook.

ya, anymore, the only thing I pay with a check is my rent, and my car payment... But i have done my carpayment over the phone with my debit card, but they take out double the amount because they put the amount on hold, then withdraw it.. then that amount stays on hold for a few days... I still dont get why they are not up to date because they are a bank for crying out loud, but its a pretty small town.. We dont live there anymore so I have to do it by mail...

I only write one check a month now, for my rent. And I just had to order more, and you can't order just a few, so now I have about 25 years worth of checks. confused

I don't bring anything, except maybe a pen to fill out an application. You should know all of your information like SS#, bank account #, job info, previous addresses, references, etc

I used to make online rent payments manually because I felt like I had more "control" over it that way but now that I've set up an automatic monthly transfer it feels like such a relief! I never have to think about it for a second. All I have to make sure is that there's always enough money in the account, which admittedly isn't something you should take for granted...

The only thing I liked about checks when I lived in Vancouver was that they made nice souvenirs. I have a couple from my stay in Japan too and they're decorated with pink hearts and blue elephants, lol.

WTF does that mean?

Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

I once viewed a place here where they still hadn't quite cleaned the carpet of the MASSIVE BLOOD STAIN (i.e. puddle)

oddly enough, the rent was very reasonable and one of the attendees introduced himself as "Roger from Crime Scene Services Inc."
