Well, after watching the first game of the Bears' football season, they somehow managed to win 19 - 14 over the Detroit Lions. While I probably should be feeling like this woot! excited dancing jig , in reality I'm more like this: rolleyes neutral sigh whew . The offensive like was crappy again today; the Bears turned the ball over four times, including two fumbles as they were driving downfield for a touchdown; and they had a 1st and goal at the Detroit one yard line and still couldn't score a touchdown mad . They basically did eveything they could to give the game away. And on top of that Detroit was robbed in the closing seconds of the game when Calvin Johnson clearly scored a touchdown in the end zone and laid the ball on the ground in the end zone after what appeared to be the game winning score, yet the refs ruled his catch incomplete.

Well, the Bears may have won, but I sure am not making any plans yet to book hotel rooms in Dallas in February for the Super Bowl.

Giants tried to give this one away, but still won.

Good job by Vick bringing Philly back, bad job by Andy Reid burning all his timeouts. Kolb showed me nothing. I'd make Vick the starter.

I was glad Philly brought Vick back too. I'm pulling for him to do well, Vick sure did make some things happen when his number was called today. cool

Although I HARDLY watch football, am I correct in noting that Vick not playing a lot is still the politics of his past? He's a GOOD ball player, but I don't see him get much burn...am I correct?

No it's has nothing to do with his past.

He was a backup.

He'll be starting this week, we'll see going forward what happens with Kolb.

I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

Jay Cutler's the luckiest mfer around. He made more bonehead decisions than Eli did.

Bears took advantage of Packer mistakes(like the Titans did against the Giants). Dumbass penalties, kicking to Devin Hester TWICE???? But I will say this, hiring Mike Martz was the smartest thing Lovie's done.

He did NOT want 2 do that............but no one else was interested in the gig. I wanted them 2 hire Martz YEARS ago. Now Martz is going 2 save Lovie's job which really irks me.

1. Mike Martz. He is a real o-coordinator, makes adjustments--tries to take advantage of the other teams defense.

2. Cutler is playing better, sure last night he had some dumb throws, but against Dallas he was superb.

3. Matt Forte,,,back and better and being utilized in the passing game--(Martz again)

4. URLACHER, the year off last year has helped him heal and he is the true leader/director of the defense.

5. They are getting breaks this year..in past years,,they were always the team that had TD's called back for penalties, now things are going their way more...and all teams need that from time to time.

They still have major issues at offensive line / defensive line, but the coaches are getting the most out of the players they have. Benching Harris for this game shows me that they are holding guys accountable. Something they didnt do in the past. Either you perform or your riding the pine...that is my motto..but in the past..they played players just cuz of their draft pick status or contract.

Hopefully they improve and find a way to fix the O-line...If they can do that and the major playmakers stay injury free.....Playoffs!!

The schedule plays in the Bears favor too. The next two road games are at the

Giants and at Carolina and then they are back home for Seattle and another winnable

home game can't remember who at this time.

The schedule does look good for the Bears in the time being. nod While I am quite psyched that the Bears beat the Packers last night, excited I'm still not ready to book those tickets to Dallas this February just yet. They did play well against Dallas, and they played a really tough-in-the-trenches game against Green Bay last night. Having said that, Aaron Rogers looked like a superstar quarterback, and the Packers would have spanked the Bears last night had they not shot themselves in the foot so many times with those stupid penalties. doh! duh Right now I can see the Bears possibly going to 7-0 woot! but the second half of the season looks to be much tougher.

The Bears will win 5 or 6 games this year, Lovie will say that they are "close" and the Bears will retain him and Angelo 4 one more season of losing. They will then hire the cheapest coach they can find.................and we start this nonsense all over again.

Time 4 new ownership in Chicago.

That is the million dollar question.

Coaches have to coach these guys up and if someone isnt performing (T. Harris), put somebody else in there (Z Bowman taken out for Jennings monday nite)

It is all on Tice and the other coaches to figure it out.

Maybe it is time to get rid of Tommie Harris.

With the way the Giants shitty special teams have been playing, Bears have a good chance to steal one in NY.

Where does one start with this team?

Worst head coach in the NFL. Worst OL in the NFL. Worst owners in the NFL. Worst GM in the NFL. Worst VP in the NFL. Worst pass rush in the NFL. Worst DC in the NFL. The receivers run the softest and weakest routes I've witnessed at the NFL level in YEARS. They can't run the ball because they can't BLOCK. The defensive scheme is a JOKE around the league.

Did I mention that they have the ONLY Head coach in the NFL that doesn't work on Sundays? I can't wait 4 lovie the clown 2 be shown the door. I assure u that that the Bears will find an excuse 2 bring back this guy 4 yet another season next year.

Because they're too cheap to pay a dude like a Cowher or a Shanahan.
