I don't even know where to look for those here, I've only ever found any on overseas trips.

OK, I've just done a devious thing
planted a seed of an idea in husky's mind of visiting the scienceworks museum, with the ulterior motive of a quick visit to the gift shop (where I did see a robot or 2)
he will totally kill me on Saturday when he finds out I'm NOT all about the planetarium (which I know the whole family will LOVE btw so I'm not completely evil) he kind of discourages my robot collecting

Just got this old lucite and mirror perfume tray for the deco-ish bedroom I'm assembling. Paid $10.

a couple of weeks ago at a garage sale i bought a civil war era rocking chair which looks almost exactly like this:
for fifty bucks. that's right, five zero. the upholstery is different, it has some damage to the wood, but it's really comfortable and has the feeling of having been well loved. a tradition i plan to continue.
only weird thing is, after i bought it and looked it up online, turns out it's almost exactly like the chair Lincoln sat in on his last night at the theater (the picture above is a photo of that chair )

But...where will you put chikkun? We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Oh, chikkun will always have a place of importance.

I'm out of aluminum foil. And I found it on sale this week at Walgreens for 99¢. I pulled 3 $1.00 off coupons from my coupon binder to buy 3. Free.

Does it have be something we find to keep?
Lately I like going to yard sales to see if I can find anything that I know I could easily sell for more than what I get it for. For example.... I bought this set of Spirit Measures at a yard sale for $1.00
I put them on Ebay, and sold them for $57.00 Music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. ~Berthold Auerbach

It doesn't have to be anything specific or even of great monetary value. Just something you consider a great find, for whatever reason.
