The American. Everything was great... except the story. disbelief Hard to give it a favorable review without that. I even liked the slow pace to it but it didn't build up to anything special. However, I had no problem with the ending-- in fact that's how I might've left it myself-- but you're kind of left to wonder why exactly we got there other than the general nature of his business. Neither the characters nor the story itself were well thought-out.

I saw Machete a day or two before that and while it's really just a popcorn movie, it was atleast a good one.

Yea, I found myself not really giving a damn aout the characters in The American because there was no reason to. The whole movie was just mehh.. to me. The whole thing was a slow moving bunch of nothing.

Machete on the otherhand was as fun as mayhem can get.

Wow...Sextonseven, do you remember all the details of one film from another?

Just curious. I get films criss-crossed sometimes and I haven't seen as many. Or I'll remember a movie scene, but not where from.

lol, after awhile details fade, which isn't a bad thing in my opinion. Not remembering exactly what happens in every scene of a film makes repeated viewings more appealing. Recalling my general impression of the movie is most important.

Saw the "final" workprint screener of it...

By far the best film this year with a truely great score... And even Timberfuck was tolerable...

("Inception" and "Black Swan" were great, but this is the one this year...)

TRENT OWNZ IT!

Next up a screening for "Tron: Legacy" next month, just for nostalgia's sake, don't expect much from Disney drivel...

Ladri di biciclette (Bicycle Thieves) 1948: I've always been curious about De Sica's work and it seems I've started with just the right one. great film. that little kid's acting is truly mesmerizing, too. to think this was his first acting job!

À bout de souffle (Breathless) 1960: Great watch. being shot in Paris with a charming duo makes it all the more enjoyable too. it was also really cool recognizing some of the areas/buildings there and knowing what they've become today.

"what's that book where they're all behind the wardrobe?"

Last night I watched All About Eve. Fuckin' classic!!!

"That I should want you at all suddenly strikes me as the height of improbability. But that in itself is probably the reason: You're an improbable person, Eve, and so am I. We have that in common. Also our contempt for humanity and inability to love and be loved, insatiable ambition, and talent. We deserve each other. " ~ Addison DeWitt

mushy This movie should be required viewing for all persons above the age of 15.
