Well umm that's because he was frying up like scrambled eggs outside in the sun when he handcuffed Russell to him. To the viewer (and people who HAVEN'T read the series books), it looks like Eric is sacrificing himself to get rid of Russell as he really didn't have many options on how to kill that blood sucker. And who is actually going to jump in and save Eric if he doesn't die??? Pam?

Probably Sookie after she gets revived. There's a clip in the promo for the finale where's she running out of the club with a silver chain, probably to subdue Russel and save Eric.

hmmm Yeah probably so. Sounds like something she would do.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

falloff @ people thinking Eric will die, dude is the most popular character AND next season is heavily centered around him. He's safe!

I liked how Sookie kept defending him to Bill, who was desperate to hear her say she was done with Eric for good. She SO enjoyed that kiss last week lol

Godric is in the promo for the finale eek eek

lol I haven't read one page of the books and I know Eric isn't going anywhere. Sookie will save him, that's why they showed her continually defending him to Bill in the car. She's starting to care for him (and was very uncomfortable with his goodbyes in previous episodes).

Didn't they say someone was going to die in the finale? Tommy? Wait, no he's in the opening creds. It wouldn't be him. Calvin? Felton? It should be Felton. lol Kitch? What a waste of storyline. It should be him and Felton. Anyway, what's with Rene coming back?

That's the only thing cheesing me this season. How has Russell survived this long being as freaking gullible as he has the last couple of shows?

It's a problem with the show that their villains are really quite silly. l loved Mary Ann so much, but when she would put on those stupid horns and run after people, she looked idiotic. And Russell (who, by the way, seemed totally evil and powerful in the flashback where he killed Eric's family) now seems goofy and powerless. For that matter, so does the Queen, who really should be big and bad and awesome.

Anyway, the show reminds me of that line from "The Invincibles," where the villain says something like, "Look at that! You've got me monologuing!" That's kind of what the villains do on True Blood. Spend a whole bunch of time talking about their evil plans when they should just kill the person.

And why the hell didn't anyone think to bring that liquid silver spray that they had at the beginning of the show?

The melodramatic villain speech is common in most movies/shows though. Really important characters never die because the villain is assing around lecturing.

rene is back due to arlene feeling that Rene is the father of her baby and not Terry. So it's like Rene's spirit haunting Arlene

I don't know if they said that. I like that if someone's going to die at this point it will be a strong twist in the story.

I cannot wait to see what happens with Sam & Tommy. It's been one of my favorite storylines this season. I don't like AB's take on Hotshot, but if he is basing the storyline on the books in any way whatsoever, Calvin & Felton will play big on next season's storyline so I don't see them going.

Kitch, interesting little side story. Takes time away from my more favorite folks though. It would be nice to see this not dragged out. lol

Rene is not coming back as in he's alive. I think he's coming back more in spirit in Arlene's imagination, HOWEVER giggle since next season is the "Season of the Witch", Arlene may have conjoured up something nasty trying to purge Rene's baby.

In the case of Godric it is bittersweet. The dreams and flashbacks take up valuable time, but it's Godric for heaven's sake so I'm not gonna argue that one. lol
