Erin ~ yeah it sux when a cut is bad

BUT ~ it does not look as bad to us as it does to you

it'll grow

I know. That's the only good thing...well, and the fact that I had all the damage ends cut off.

You're really a beautiful woman and one "bad" cut isn't gonna change that ! I know it bugs you and I can relate ~ i've had my share of not so good cuts

Oh, and this was the pic I brought in to show her what I wanted....exactly. I had 3 pics of the same girl showing the cut at different angles. I also explained my hair type, what I do to style it, etc, etc...

I've seen your hair look better but I certainly wouldn't classify this as a bad haircut. As others pointed out, your sad face is what's not making this pic. I bet if you take a picture of you licking something, you'll look fan-fuckin'-tastic again.

Well, that's what I did today. sad

My long hair is gone and I am left with a mess.

Yes it's normal...and I have had it happen one to many times. I have gotten to the point where I won't cut my hair for months because I am afraid it will happen again.

I need a haircut so bad right now, but my normal lady has stopped cutting hair (6 babies at home) now I am in need of a new person but to afraid to find someone. boxed

Sorry the haircut went poorly. Doesn't look terrible on you by any means, but I can see how an unwanted hairstyle could mess up a week (or more).

Not that I have enough hair to worry about that these days.

Awwww! I think it looks good. It is normal to cry.

About 5 years ago. I went in to get a color change. Walked in with shoulder length hair and walked out with a short halle berry cut! He didnt know what he was doing at all. It was a disaster.

I held it together in the salon,on the bus ride home (the bus driver kept staring at me. He was flirting but in my mind I thought he was staring because I looked like shrek)

As soon as I got home and looked in the mirror. I cried HARD!

I started taking hair vitamins and my hair grew back fast.

I know it's only hair, but it makes you feel like such shit when something that you thought was nice is just taken away.

I went in with hair perfect for pretty much any cut. It was long, thick just waiting to be perfected and I am given this shit cut. neutral

Erin, your hair is nice, though I have to admit I'm not used to seeing you in blonde. And whatever happened with the flaming auburn red hair you had back some time ago? Was it that hard to keep color with your roots coming in white? It's a little shorter than before, but something tells me you like your hair growing all the way down to the small of your waist. I had a Latin girlfriend who had some naturally curly and wavy hair, but when she straightened it, her hair went all the way down to the middle of her back, which I thought was quite sexy. sexy I love really long hair on a woman, but only when it's kept in good shape. Not many women can grow it that long, and fewer still can keep it in good shape without it looking frizzy or hippie-ish.

You probably needed a really good stylist to do your hair, but I don't know how many of them are aroiund your neck of the woods. It reminds me of Adam Sandler in You Don't Mess With The Zohan, where he keeps giving his clients hairstyles which were hot ten years ago but out of place today.

Honestly, crying seems a little over reactionary to me. It's just hair. It will grow back. Some people have their hair fall out due to chemo or disease, or even male pattern baldness! Be thankful that's not you.

About 3 years ago my hair was really long as I was growing it out to donate to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths (they use the donated hair to make wigs for people who have lost their hair because of chemo). Up until that point, I normally went to the Aveda Student Salon for a $20 cut, but because I was cutting off about 10-13 inches I decided to splurge and so I made an appointment with my friend's stylist. It was a total disaster! He cut my hair off before even putting it in a pony tail. I ended up with barely 8 inches (the minimum required to donate). The cut looked okay when I left, but when I went out that night another friend's first words were, "It's crooked." And it was -- higher on the left. neutral I was upset -- not because of my bad haircut -- because as I said, it's just hair and I knew it would grow back, but more because I had spent more than 12 months growing out my hair to donate and with a few snips of the scissors it was almost all for nothing.

There was a happy ending to my story -- I decided to try a stylist at a third friend's salon to fix the mess of the first guy. This stylist was awesome and became my regular stylist until she moved to LA last year. So if I wouldn't have had the bad cut I would have never found the good stylist. Everything happens for a reason.

Probably not what you want to hear. Give it 2 weeks and if you still hate it then try to find someone to fix it. But just remember, it could be worse, you could have no hair.

Edit: and btw, it doesn't look bad, just much thinner at the bottom than in other photos I've seen; and not really anything like the photo you gave them (which would be disappointing).

I have cried over hair more than once before.

Seems like you're making the best of it, though.

I currently don't really like my own hair as I feel like it's in a constant state of in-between as I try to grow it out to what I want in my head and I'm worried I'll never quite get it right and just have had horrible hair for 2 years trying to get there. pout

Fortunately, you still have enough length to get it fixed without losing too much more.

You look like you have been sobbing in that picture sad . It is totally frustrating when you go to great lengths to explain EXACTLY what you want and the hairdresser acts like you didn't say a word. when I get frustrated like that I just want to pimpsmack somebody and because I can't pimp smack somebody I cry.

Had my hair cut on wednessay after over 18 months and my daughters aswell for six dollars a piece at the hair school and did not expect miracles so I didn' t cry. I did cry when my sister "trimmed " nine or more inches off my daughters hair and left it a crooked hacked up mess. pissed Hair dresser said she could only fix it so much without taken my daughters hair all the way up to her chin. Seriously, I just want to punch my sister soooooo badly!!!!

This style right here is long as shit... how long was your original hair to get it "CUT" to this? You must of had hair to over your butt cheeks in order to cut it to that length.

OK... your hair will grow back, hug you are crying and its OK.

BUT FOR NEXT TIME>>>>

NEVER NEVER FUCKING EVER say the term CUT when you mean styled to look like that.

From the pics I see, your hair was close inlength to this.

Some stylists are scissor happy, and they will hack first then trim-style.

Once the hacking is done to the lentgh of the photo then the trimming is done AFTER so the end result is a much shorter version of whant is pictured.

Becareful with terms that stylists think "OK I can go chopping!" because to them "long" is what you are sporting now. neutral

So next time if you want the same look like the this picture, just say "Styled like this BUT NOT CUT" and the stylist will do what she should have done IN THE first place.....

that is TRIM to achieve fullness and not hack off inches off the bottom then layer up.

I am sorry this happened to you. It happened to me too... I walked in wanting Paula Abduls look and walked out with a mullet.

It was horrible. hug Thank God your hair grows fast... mins is fine and takes forever to grow.

FYI Never get a woman that has jealous tendencies to cut your hair.

If you are prettier than her, she may be a bitch and chop your hair up on purpose because she doesn't want to to look better than her.

As a former hairdresser, I witnessed this over and over again. Get a top dog in the salon or go with a secure stylist that is confident and sharp as hell to do your hair. I kid you not.

Ok, I know this is going to sound awful, but when I was telling my mom about it I said, "it's like she wanted to butcher it because my hair was so much nicer than hers". Seriously, my hair is always complimented, even when it's in a long, ratty in need of a style phase.

sad

My hair was longer than the girl in the pic, and almost all one length. There is zero excuse as to why I didn't get this cut.

So today I straightened it, and it's actually much worse than I thought. There is a section on the longest layer that is just missing, it was just cut short. It's a choppy mess. Even with a straightener it will not lay flat. I don't even want to take a pic to show you guys - it's that bad.

So, now I am not sure what to do. Should I go back to the salon and make a formal complaint and tell them I want it fixed by their best stylist for free, or just go somewhere else?

If it's worth crying over, it's probablhy worth complaining about. Try to get the free fix and if they don't comply, go elsewhere and never go back.

comfort Whenever one of my hairdressers didn't do my curls right they did them for free once more until it was okay. Once they dyed them purple insted of red and didn't admit it and I changed my hair dresser because of that. They also burned some parts of it 2 times with the curling sigh. They probably would style or cut your hair for free but do you trust them?

As long as its a good cut (one that you can style yourself at home and wears nicely on your head) then it will be a good thing.

hug I hope you like the end result. I would do the same. Be open for a completely different look and expect nothing. This way you will not have more dissapointment.
