One incision is just on the inside of the lower lip. They did use the dissolving stitches there - but warned me that they would probably pull out before I healed completely. That's why I'm being so careful. I want them to hold for a couple days, at least.

They actually told me that if the stitches pull out, I shouldn't come back to be restitched.

That's probably real good advice.

I had stitces on the top of my lower lip, and skin/scabs grew over them - which had to be removed before the stitches could be taken out. I almost passed out.

Well, this just gets better and better. About the middle of the afternoon yesterday, I noticed a bruise staring to develop in the corner of my mouth. Between the bruise and the swelling, it now looks like someone took a poke at me.

Just what you want 24 hours before a job interview. confused

Shrimp bisque was the soup du jour in our cafeteria today. Not the greatest - but after two days of eating practically nothing, I almost cried because it tasted so good. touched lol

how long before it heals?

Well, the nurse said the sutures usually dissolve in a week to ten days - if they haven't gotten pulled out just from talking, yawning, smiling, laughing, etc. I am trying so hard to keep the lower half of my face still because I don't even want to think about how bad it would hurt to pull these things out. shake

I'm sure the swelling and bruise will be gone before then. But they probably won't be before my interview. Which means I'm going to have to explain why it looks like someone socked me in the mouth. confused

I think it went well. 2-1/2 hours worth...yeesh! My mouth is tired right now.

It's always so hard to tell with these things. And this situation is doubly weird, because two of the people I talked with are people I know well - and two I didn't know, at all. Of the four, three will be involved in the decision. (The other is the person I would be working most closely with, but she is not a decisionmaker.) I know the two that I know will push as hard for me as they can. The wild card is the creative director. I think she liked me, but who knows? shrug

Anyway, she's on vacation next week, so it may be awhile before I hear anything. Which is fine - I'd like to get the play going before anything else happens.

One awesome thing - it's 20 minutes from my garage to their offices. It'll get a minute or two longer when school starts (I'd have one school zone to drive through), but 20 minutes is about half what it takes me now.

Actually, depending on when the offer is made (assuming it is), I might want to give three weeks - just so I can use up my vacation time. (My current employer no longer pays off vacation time when you leave the company.) So I'd probably work a week, take a week off, then work a week.
