Hands up who likes colours and has a good imagination I need some names for colours, in sets
these are my basic colours: yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, indigo, violet, blue, green (not grey, brown etc)
if I was to use a jewel/gemstone theme it might be:
gold, topaz, ruby, etc
or fruit:
banana, peach, cherry, plum, blueberry, kiwi etc.
Can you think of any other sets where I might be able to cover that basic colour set?
even if you just throw random colour names at me I'll be writing them down [Edited 8/24/10 19:13pm]

Awesome. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Don't forget Teal. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Hummingbird? Parrakeet? Which bird is teal?

A teal is a duck. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

You have the Kea! (which is a favorite bird of mines I made good friends with one at the local zoo, she would play ball with me) I'm a geeky nerd The others people would have to just google... it'll be educational too! same with flowers...

You couldn't find Austrailian birdies that were a certain color and name the color after the bird?

Damn this should be right up my alley.

You would want to keep Flamingo as pink... its iconic for that color.

I could they just might be a little obscure for 5-8 year olds
I think flamingo is a keeper, EVERYONE knows they are pink

I think they are from New Zealand I just googled, thinking why have I not heard of that

Would you keep white (dove) raven (black) pigeon (gray) also? Isn't the gray parrot there? Golden eagles too? so in Australia Eagle (gold) ?

You guys have a colorful array of birds!
the org is so educational at times
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
trouble is so many are totally multi-coloured!!!
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Now I get it.
Tried to come up with Pixar characters for each and only ended up with 5. Didn't wanna get too obscure.

I know! Rainbow Lorikeets and the Cassoways
Those two birds alone have the entire color spectrum covered.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
no, and copyright laws would prevent us from using those anyway
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
There are 9 colours in total, but a group of any 5 would be ideal!!! FauxReal don't be discouraged
