All of his other short story collections have been much better, and much scarier! But he's still my favorite author by far. I *totally* agree with you about his short story collections. Though many of his full novels are classic and I love them, his short stories are my favorite too and, like you, I was really excited to read 'Everything's Eventual'. But none of the stories in that really grabbed me, know what I mean?  Not like the older short story collections did.
He's a terrific author. Have you heard he's said he's going to put out 5 more books and then call it quits? I really hope he changes his mind, maybe after he's had some time to recharge and find new inspiration again. 
What did you think of the Bachman Books collection? I don't run into many people who read that. 'The Long Walk' is one of my favorite stories EVER!! I've reread it many times and it never gets any less engrossing. | |

I once heard him say that the only thing that literally kept him sane was writing. That was a long time ago though. I really like the Bachman Books. Every once and a while I'll re-read it. And "The Long Walk" is also my favourite! It's so depressing, and I love shit like that. I also like "Rage". Unfortunately, it's really close to the truth nowdays.
