PRAYER How often do you say a prayer, I say a prayer everytime I see an accident, hoping that the people involved will be ok.

Whenever i see a break in regular tv, 'this is a special report', that couple seconds that you are not sure what is coming...
did something blow up... are we at war... anthrax... shooting at a school... airplane down... the shuttle was the latest and then orange heightened alert, that 'special report' thing really freaks me out ---------------------------------
Funny and charming as usual

I do that too... if this is a prayer: "God, I hope everyone is okay..."

I don't pray, because it's not like anyone is listening. -------
A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti... "I've just had an apostrophe!" "I think you mean an epiphany..."

Often.
I think prayer can be misunderstood. I don't pray to something outside of myself. I pray as like a way to communicate with myself. Big difference. It's an acknowledgement of events and feelings. It is getting in touch with hope and love. For me, anyways...

I don't anymore. How come? As a child, I used to feel they were somewhat worthy. Into my adolescent years...a lot of things began to happen to me, that I didn't understand. It felt like nothing made sense. I was following what I thought was the "right road", and kept getting hurt. Eventually, I gave up, as it just seemed like my life never got better. The old 2 steps forward, 5 steps back. My life is still this way. I guess instead of prayer, I've learned to just deal with it, this way, if nothing comes of my life - I have nobody to blame but myself. I hope this makes sense.

But I have a theory as to why this happens. Let me know if you're interested.

I pray to Jehovah very often...
I always feel better after I pray. I pray at mealtimes. I pray when I wake up. I pray when something really good happens. I pray for forgiveness. I pray when I am afraid. I pray when I see something really beautiful in nature. I pray for God's guidance. I pray for my friends. I pray for my enemies. I pray for God's Kingdom. Most of my prayers are prayers of thanksgiving. So...how's everybody doing?

Each day i pray for justice and safety for all people.
As i go thru the day, many things along the way provoke me to pray, like when i see: someone trying to stay warm, someone looking for a good meal, someone searching for a way to pay their bills, someone who's been taken advantage of due to having a good heart, someone who's lost a loved one, someone who's all alone in the world, someone who is being mistreated and abused, someone who's car and clothes are falling apart, or seeing the leaders of our country posturing for war. i pray for people who think they are always right yet only take the time to see 'one way' and for those who have much to give but do little for those who have nothing. i also say a prayer of thanks when love is present and hardships are overcome, when people can live together and love one another.
