Tell us your interesting/cooky/little known facts I found the following both facinatibg and amusing during my Master in Biology:
When time to mate the female echidna produces a strong smelling liquid to attract males. Up to 12 males will then follow her around night and day in a line, nose to tail, for upto a month 
When she is finally ready to do the sexy sexy act she digs her front down into the dirt and sticks her rear in the air, the males dig a trench near or even around her and begin pushing eachother  ....last one in the trench is the winner and gets to mate. At this point he produces his double headed penis from the hole in his rear (neither sex have visible sex organs - just a hole) and gives Mrs Echidna a good seeing to 
What a cool mating ritual - month long Conga, Sumo Fight followed by Sex

It does! It worked for me twice!
True story - when my friend was heavily pregnant and overdue I had a phone conversation with her and she told me that she had had a big sex session with her husband to try to bring on labour... so I said something about semen being good for this.... anyway she thought that it was just the penetration that made it happen and her husband had jizzed all over her tits
She dissappeared from the phone and I heard her say 'We're gonna have to do it again, but this time keep it in'.

I know the act of sex does because of the hormones released and I know swallowing does cuz of the chemicals....but didn't know just being around it did | |

I think it has more to do with it being on the cervix. It's supposed to naturally thin/dilate it. | |
