But there are instances where a woman or girl is forced to marry a man she doesn't want to. Happens all the time in Muslim cultures and in India and some African nations. He did something taboo in his own culture and he is paying for it so to speak. I feel sorry for the wife because she will not be treated well by him...not ever.

YES!

I had to watch the video more than once because I had a hard time understanding some of the words. The people had accents, so that made it difficult to understand. During the interview, it was stated that the man was with the woman for 10 years. Six years ago, he kidnapped her, then brought her back to her parents. I'm sure he raped her during this time, so that's why the whole community is pushing for this marriage. He even ran away, so he MUST have done something he had no business doing. He dishonored her so he has to pay.

I guess that's the go-ahead to gather the torches and pitchforks and get vigilante justice. If they want to support her why not do it in court? I know, I know...Women don't have as many rights over there. So why didn't the men of the town vouch for her in court if her honor meant that much to them. No, the obvious solution is to go the "two wrongs" avenue.

In my previous posts, I've already said that you have to understand that this happened in a foreign country. It is a different culture. The man was in a relationship with the woman for 10 years. He even screwed her and he wouldn't marry her. Then he ran away. He broke a lot of their rules. In that culture, he is scum. The people in the community were helping the woman. In their eyes, they helped her get justice. How many times do I have to say that this is a differnt culture before people get it?
