Law and Order :Criminal Intent

I have become a fan of Law and Order :C.I. especially episodes feauturing ChRIS Noth as inspector

Mike Logan

I'm not so fond of episodes D'ontario ,for my taste Noth

have much more edge in his role and acting.

I see the captain is always the same Eric Bogosian

but some episodes feauture either Chris Noth or the other actor .

What is the difference? Is Story line paralel

is there episodes with D'ontario and Noth together ?

Actually, when the series began, it exclusively starred Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe as his partner but by season five they began alternating with Chris Noth, who had reprised his original character from Law & Order. This went on for a few more seasons until NBC shipped the show out to cable on the USA Network, after about one season they replaced Chris Noth with Jeff Goldblum. This season they basically fired the original cast members due to budget constraints and replaced Eric Begosian with Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, leaving Jeff Goldblum with a new partner as the sole detective team. But the ratings on USA Newtork, while great initially, have nosedived since they added shows like Burn Notice, Royal Pains, and White Collar to their schedule. And now Jeff Goldblum announced that he is leaving the show, and it is unknown whether USA will bring the show back for next season, though it's rumored that they will bring it back for one final season with the original cast.

Instead of firing the original cast, C.I. should've had their series finale with them + Jeff Goldblum. I know that's a harsh thing for me to say, but SVU was always the better L&O spin-off series.

'Criminal Minds' gets into the mind and behavior a lil deeper than 'Law and Order: C.I.' Best example is like right now. omg you can't blink or else. 'Barnaby Jones' it's not. Sorry Jed. eek

Serious man-crush on D'Nofrio. The first 4 seasons of L&O:CI seemed like pulp detective drama perfection; I didn't quite enjoy it as much when they started to delve into the characters lives. It started to feel like a serial soap opera.

I've tried to follow the 'half-seasons' after that, but I got lazy with the move to USA. I wish they'd do something about getting the later seasons to DVD...

Thanx everybody, but my original question is since the return of Mike Logan is the storyline parallel or what?

i just seen episode with chris noth his girl partner and girl partner of

D'Nofrio together in the same episode.

are there episodes with both D'nofrio and noth together in the same episode?

I think it was season 4 Vincent collapsed while filming - and he continued the show with the agreement that he would do fewer episodes. Noth was brought in. They shared an episode towards the end of the 4th season (I think it was). Noth was phased in, and they share the same office room.

The 5th season's episodes were split in half - featuring either the D'Nof/Erbe or Noth/whoever (I didn't watch many of those, sorry) teams. There was a 2-part storyline where all 4 detectives were on the same case.
