The answer is no, opposite sex children should not be in anywhere with you. (toilets, changing rooms, etc)

Just because children may get up to no good, get snatched by paedos or something if they stayed outside is not justification to take them in somewhere they shouldn't be.

It's one of these situations where it's not about the parent or the child but the other patrons. So if you do do it, and you get asked to remove your child, by the establishment or other users, you should do it.

The flip-side of this is noisy children in restaurants. If you don't like it find a resaurant that doesn't allow families/children.

smile

So apparently parents should not be out in public with their children.

Children are born, sometimes the opposite sex. So at what age should children not be in anywhere with a parent?

correct.

I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

I've been in pool locker rooms where women brought their tall ass man-sized 10 year old sons in there with them, and I didn't really think that was appropriate at all confused

And men taking daughters into the men's room, should not even be an option, unless it's totally empty or a single stall!

So a single Dad is supposed to trust a random woman to escort his daughter(s) in and out of the ladies room?!!

I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

I've witnessed a guy kinda yell into the men's room first to tell the other guys who may have been in their that he was coming in with his daughter, and I thought that was a good idea for an emergency situation. shrug

If you will, so will I

My son is over 4 feet tall, and he is five. He goes in the stall with me, if need be, and if we were at a store, I would take him into the changing room--though his patience level is nil, so I try not to shop for myself with him.

Holy shit. I'm only 4'11". eek

yeah, he is a big kid.

shoot, if I were in a ladies room and a guy had his daughter with him, I would be cool with him coming in there so she could use the bathroom.

doh! Much ado about nothing.

You make it sound like the mom's in their switching up her tampon. Any decent clothing store has individual dressing rooms complete with mirror and chair or bench for sitting and a door to lock for privacy. There's no reason why women in the other fitting rooms should feel uncomfortable unless lil boy is running around knocking on doors yellin' "LEMME SEE UR TITS!"

lol Umm, OK. Well I'll make you a deal. Next time you're in the Bay Area we'll visit all the men's fitting rooms I've been in over the last decade that don't have locks. thumbs up! Maybe it's a guy thing, but they just don't have locks anymore. A lot of them don't even have a knob - just a magnet.

a lot of shopping centres have parenting rooms, where mums can go and breast feed...AND men can safely take their daughters to use the facilities.

a lot of these rooms have curtained areas, where if you are a shy feeding mum, you can sit behind.

i actually told a young dad one day to ignore the other women who were glareing at him, he had just as much right to be there as his partner did.

saying that, i still wait outside the mens room when my son (11) is inside, where i am in yelling distance.

its a sad fact, the world isnt safe these days.

this story has always stuck in my mind sad pray

http://news.ninemsn.com.a...x?id=95062

There was a similar story that occurred in Primm, Nevada, just outside Las Vegas about 10 years ago maybe. I was there at the time the child was snatched and killed by two men in a restroom at the hotel.

sad

seems that i was busy doing something close to nothing, but different than the day before music beret

I've done this often, as of today in fact. Yeah, we have some women who are capable of evil mess but lets get real more often it's usually men.

In downtown Chicago they're posedt signs outside some of the public bathrooms saying, 'Security monitor these bathrooms anyone engaging impropriety . . . will be arrested'. Found out some where using the bathrooms a cruising spots. The store New York & Company a sales rep has to give you a key to use the fitting room. Why? Some guy was sneaking in videotaping women in various stages of undress. Some people are tripping about kids, when it's the crazy/twisted adults who are the problem.
