I was thinking about this lately, because thinking of all of Lady Gaga's magazine cover shoots (some with nothing but some bubbles covering up the breasts and sex organ) and all the rappers/singers posing with their shits unbuttoned or without a shirt, that revealing clothing has just lost it's shock value/sexiness. There's 13-14 year old girls walking around in booty shorts which are barely more covering than underwear and your always seeing guys posting pictures of them in their underwear, sometimes even the underwear showing some pubic hair below the pelvic bone and nobody raises an eyebrow. Whenever I go on BlogTV/Chatroulette (well besides the dudes jacking it) I see a ton of relatively unattractive guys going around on webcam with their shirts off. There's guys wearing v necks that are inches away from their belly button and girls showing about 50% of their breasts thorugh their skimpy bras and shirts. What made revealing back in the day clothing sexy was that it shocked people, nobody did it and it screamed "I want to be FUCKED!" if you did. Nowadays, everybody is doing the revealing clothing thing, even fucking 8 years old girls are walking around wearing some booty shorts. Does anyone agree with this that wearing skimpy/litte/revealing clothing's sex appeal/shock appeal has completely worn off. Do you know what I think is sexier? A girl who covers up most of her legs, a girl who shows off her ass through her jeans, a girl who shows off her breasts from the lumps in the shirts, and guys taking pictures with their shirts on and pants on, and no low v necks for guys. Who getes what I'm saying here?

I agree as far as celebrities go, but in the general public I still find cleaveage, midriff and extremely short skirts and shorts shocking (well as shocking as seeing a bit of skin can be). Its not a common thing where I live to dress exactly like celebs, teenagers and young people stores always sell toned down versions. I was more shocked by seeing the length of Cindi Brady's skirts in the old Brady Bunch episodes. Kids these days have nothing on that!

And I say that as a young person who watched the reruns in the 90's. I'd never seen such short skirts!

Even though I respect people's choice of clothing or lack of it, I find you described how I dress, like Janet in her innocent days with the skin tight pants and tops. But a part of me is comfortable with my body where I don't mind walking around the house in my bra if I want to get something or care if someone sees me for a split second whereas before it would have been a big deal years ago if anyone saw me.

For me, I guess it depends more on the setting. Tight or revealing clothing in a club isn't shocking. Tight or revealing clothing in church, yeah.
