Seriously, I don't think Purple & Gold was that bad, I think these songs in the artist's normal style are even more cheesy. Like if Prince did "Viking Dance" dance or "Play Horny Ball" in some funky style fight song I would have hated it.
I like that he did something totally different.

No. absolutely not. That song is an abomination. I truly believe that one song jinxed the Vikes.

This Marlins song is silly and yet is never going to be better than this. Scott Stapp just has no idea what a meathead he is.
Purple and Gold is terrible, but I think it's largely because of the mega-cheesy production. If it was retooled to rock and be a lot looser, it probably wouldn't be half bad. There's a fight song buried deep in there, under those awful little Prince touches (the cute little flutes, etc) | |
