Hey Australians, keep you damn kangaroo meat in Oz

Australia's kangaroo meat industry is fighting an attempt to have its products banned from the European Union.

Beware disturbing scenes:

I'll stick to my dolphin stakes and seal cub burgers thanks hmph!

Two questions: 1) Why didn't they just shoot the joey instead of bashing its' head against the car, and 2) have they never heard of veal in Australia?

Christopher damn!

I am guessing you are joking about this but has anyone on here watched The Cove, its a film about the slaughter of dolphins in Taiji, Japan. Not only does it look at the issue of the inhumane slaughter of about 23,000 dolphins a year it brings up the issue of mercury levels in seafood and inparticular dolphin/whale meat. At one point they test some dolphin meat which was on sale and found the mercury levels were about 2000 instead of 0.04. Its scary to think that they were going to put similar meat into complusory school dinners, and they have only recently changed their minds.

If The Cove is being shown on TV or wherever at some point I would recommend watching it if you can, its awful but it shouldnt be ignored.

After much deliberation, I've decided that "Stephen Colbert" is just too cool to be an Org account name.

No offense, I'm sure you meant it as an homage.

TyphoonTip

Kangaroos are a more sustainable option than cattle and do comparatively little damage to the physical environment.

They also produce little to no methane compared to the ruminant carbon producing machines that cows are.

Basically Win / Win.

Eat up!

I didn't know you weren't already a Australian! Where were you raised? OK on the MIA thread jerseykrs said we should have wiki like pages for orgers and now I see why he is right. There is so much that I don't know that someone who has been on the org alot longer whould know about fellow orgers. CONGRADULATIONS.
