No I don't have friends that I can't stand because, if I can't stand you then you aren't a friend. And therefore, I don't lead you on in believing that you are my friend because I don't want to be bothered with you.

Steve and I have been friends since 7th grade..so it's going on around 38 years of friendship now.

In jr high and high school we were inseparable. we'd hang together, do everything together, talk on the phone 4 or 5 times a day, double date together...it lasted through college, and after

one day we were away on a singles weekend in Connecticut, and we had a fight. We didn't talk to each other for about 10 years, until I bumped into his mom at the supermarket. she told me that he was getting married in two weeks. I sent him a congrats card, and we went out one night and talked about what happened.

we kind of picked up our friendship from there, talking on the phone a couple of times a day, getting together with our families, etc.

He was invited to my daughter's bat mitzvah, and (as usual) he got drunk. He said rude things to my guests.

I stopped talking to him.

for about 3 months. he called me and asked "what happened"

I said, I didn't like the way you acted. He said "I always act that way". I said, you made a comment about my best friend's wife, in front of him. He said, "I did?..wow!...I was just kidding"

long story short, i forgave him. We talk once a day. see each other once a year or so....he's still someone I can talk to, but I can't stand the stuff he does.

thanks for asking, and for listening

nothing ticks me off more than that lame excuse. it's the same reason me & a friend aren't that close anymore. i mean, he still calls & i pick up, we still hang out every now & again even, but it's not me who calls anymore. our friendship is pretty much hanging by a thread now and it's all up to him to fix it if he wants to.

"what's that book where they're all behind the wardrobe?"

The word "friend" is thrown around WAY too easily. If you can't stand the person, are they really a "friend"?

People are so lonely and desperate for human contact of any kind that they'll tag just about anyone with the FRIEND label. sad

If you have 1 or 2 truly good friends(your signifigant other can and should be included), you're a lucky person. biggrin

Don't we all have friends (or aquaintances) that annoy us sometimes? I have truly good friends who I love to bits, but my life would be so boring having just them around.

You're how old?

Trust me, your taste in friends can (and probably will) change over time.

I'm 27 years old...

I said REAL friends, those who are very close to me and they are very few...

A loyal friend , is a loyal friend, take a good care of those who you love cause as someone said, life is too short.........
