someone made a left turn right in front of me. The damage was actually minimal, but since it is very old (1995 Toyota Corolla) the insurance saves a few dollars by calling it totaled rather than fixing it.

what's your new car?

"new" you mean. smile

How did the old one get totaled?

It's bizarre to scrap a perfectly good car for something like that, but to be honest I can see how it makes financial sense. I got a small crack in the front bumper in Canada once and the insurance company said I could choose between getting it fixed or getting $1000 cash. To this day I can't fathom how they could give me that much money to compensate for the bumper of a $2000 car, but I guess parts and labour are insanely expensive...

yeah it makes no sense for the world's sake, but it does make financial sense.

There was just enough damage that they'd have had to change parts of the frame, even though the damamge really only amounted to a bump in the fender and a broken left turn signal.

- Me & my daughter spent the day watching BBC's "Life"(some of it). Nothing special, but it was an enjoyable afternoon. I knew my girl had a brain between her shoulders, but this is one of the days where she keeps reminding me of it.

- I'm finally taking French lessons.

- My health is progressing because of this fitness routine I've been attending for the past two years.

- Finished my intersession/summer course with all A's(Thank you, lord!).

- Me & my hsuband rented a beach house for the weekend,,,,AND we're gonna raise HOLLY hell woot!

- God willing, I'll be graduated in winter 2012. I know its the future and it might not click within this thread's context, but being positive about this, I thought I should share it just the same.
