Looking at your portfolio you've some amazing shots, but one question, why not straighten the horizon on this one? Just curious.

Yes i just noticed that. i more or less uploaded straight from the camera. So ill straighten it up in photoshop. Its not too bad tho. I usually shoot in slide film on my Mamiya, but i had my digital in the car that day. I will check out your work!!

You have a lovely portfolio. I have not uploaded all my work on redbubble, just some. If you know of any alternative websites that are better for marketing yourself id like to hear about them. Its the copyright issue that is a problem on the web, people can cut and paste your photos pretty easily and a watermark in the centre is not very flattering to the images. Have you ever framed up your own work and punted it at art fairs or places like that?

Thank you. I've been on so many stock sites down the years and never been totally happy with any of them. I've never sold more than one or two per month anywhere. I started using RedBubble because I wanted to have fun again, instead of stressing about technical stuff when both my camera and my skills are not up to the task (or at least up to my expectations). I've just not picked the camera up much of late though, so I've not even been at RB lately, but I'm sure I'll get back into it again at some point. My problem with most sites is the need for model releases (which is why I like RB lol ). I like candid street shots the most and it's just not practical. Not to mention that it's staged stuff that works best on stock sites anyway. I find it all so cold. I have to remind myself to focus on fun! smile

I've not printed more than one or two of my photos since I went digital. boxed I consider myself firmly an amateur snapper and never think too highly of my own stuff. boxed

Yea i hear you!. I think you're candid street shots are awesome, and i'd try and keep it up if i were you. You're is more appealing than the sterile staged setups that you speak of. I prefer more gritty to life imagery myself, which cannot always be achieved in a studio. I take what work i can get, which tends to be mainly weddings. Although i did work as a school/University photographer for a year which was actually really fun. From my experience, the adult staff members were more of a nightmare to organise than the kids were.

Like you i'm just enjoying the fun of it, and RB is great in terms of the community of like minded passionate photographers with the added bonus of occasionally selling something.
