this episode 2night was a great departure from tthe world of sookie and more focused on the supporting cast..LOVED THAT!!
and i still think hadley is hot!! man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Yes, and I love it! He was slightly annoying when he first appeared, but the more the season goes on, the crazier he gets. Speaking of.....I'm gonna miss seeing Franklin on there. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

What's with the kid? Hadley's son. I hope he doesn't take up much future air time. Kids would put a damper on the tone of the show. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

-Well I stand corrected...ya'll were right, Franklin wasn't dead after all. But now he is I think this was the one time that Jason actually did something smart.
-Why the hell is Jason bent on saving that ugly Crystal girl? Let her go on with her daddy so that they can knock her around again.
-Sam beat the shit out of Crystal's daddy too. Guess he finally got out all of that damn frustration from people giving him shit.
-And when are we finally going to see what creatures Crystal and her family are?
-I loved, loved, loved how Lafayette and his mother bonded over his excellent makeup collection
-It was hilarious when Hoyt was introducing his girlfriend to Jessica and Jessica's fangs popped out. Why don't Hoyt and Jessica just go ahead and have a real heart to heart talk already???
-Dang seems like people starting to drag Eric by the balls. How the hell is he supposed to kill a 3000 year old vamp when he's only 1000 years old??? Looks like he might need to take on some help from Bill.
-When Eric was telling Sophie Ann that it's time for her to "make" a companion for herself..I wanted to cry
-And last but not least that damn Russell I think I fell out laughing when he was talking to Talbot's remains in the crystal urn...then appeared on the news going off like a bat out of hell "And now for the weather. Tiffany!!!!!" Classic. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Am I the only one who could care less about Sam's issues with his brother... OR Jason chasing that strange girl around? I'm like can we please get back to Eric and his vendetta?
I knew Franklin would reappear, since he didn't turn into a pile of sticky blood when Tara bashed him upside the head... but I didn't think he'd be dead so soon... altho there are only three episodes left so I guess that makes sense. He was too creepy to live.
And Russell! OMG he pulled out the anchorman's organ (was that his heart?) on local TV!!! Imagine watching that while you're trying to eat your evening meal in front of the television? BLECH.
Poor Jessica. I'm like Hoyt please stop torturing her! Go eat somewhere else!
And YAY Lafayette! I love him in love, he's sooo cute. Prince esta muerto...

That's how I feel too.
And Russell didn't pull the anchorman's heart out, it was his spine. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Ugh. Still gross. This season I've learned to eat dinner FIRST, THEN watch. It's been sooo bloody this season. :/ Prince esta muerto...

Did anyone else have a section of the program freeze?- esp. if you have Comcast.
- I can't stand that nasty Crystal thing. She looks like she needs a long, hot bath- forget a shower, that skank ass needs to SOAK.
- It was so nasty when Russell was hugging Talbot's remains on the floor.
- I agree with AnckSuNaman about the kid...
Overall, it was a good episode. "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

I totally agree. Russell's freakout at the end was the best part of the episode. I have to say...normally I'm riveted to the TV until the end of each episode - this time, not so much.

He did! I think the stress of his crazy family and the constant aggression from his brother are pushing him over the edge. He's going to get himself into trouble. Poor Sam...he needs to kick his brother to the curb.

While the Jason and Sam storylines pale in comparison to the Sookie/Bill/Eric storylines I love them. Crystal and Tommy are imperfect characters. They are unlikeable and poisonous to those involved with them. I cannot wait to see how Jason and Sam deal with them and the situations they find themselves in.
Poor Sam is right. He wants to help Tommy, but Tommy is so broken.

Eric and Pam talking about their relationship and that she should become a maker if anything happens to Eric. It was awesome!!!
I was dying when Russell said that!!!
I didn't want to see Franklin die either, but he kinda had to. How boring would it have been to have Tara constantly being "kidnapped."

No, my tv didn't freeze. I have verizon Fios and never have had any problems with their service.
Yeah I agree with the Crystal thing...I don't know why Jason is so fascinated by dirty women. Eww.
Yeah it was utterly disgusting when Russell was cuddling Talbot's remains. I was looking for the blood tears to run down his face but didn't see it.
I don't really have any comments about the kid.
Yes it was a good episode. I can't believe there are only 3 left. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

so.... have any of y'all read the books? -- not that Alan Ball sticks to them much
Crystal plays a pivotal role in where Jason's life takes him (in the books... Ball may change that, too)
Hunter (Hadley's son/Sookie & Jason's 2nd cousin [kids that young are often told to refer to an adult 2nd or 3rd cousin as aunt/uncle]) had a bigger part in the last book -- but since Ball also does some events out of order, too.. I really can't guess where he's gonna go with this one Hag. Muse. Web Goddess. Taurean. Tree Hugger. Poet. Professional Nerd. Geek.

I think the whole Crystal/Jason/Hotshot story is going to explode by the end of the season. I really hope Ball stays at least somewhat close to the books on that. I think it adds a lot.
I was wondering last night where we're going to go with the Hunter/Hadley story or if that was just setting the stage for events down the line.
I'm ready for Tommy to be off my tv. I don't think he adds anything.

I'm about 1/3 of the way into the 4th book... I start avoiding these threads when people start talking about the books. I know, I try not to give away too much. Plus, Alan Ball strays so much from the books, who knows where the story will go! Proud Succubi Bitch!

I think he's just testing Sam - to see how far he can go, to see if he'll let him down like Tommy's dad did all his life ... was it ever clearly specified [in the tv show] if Joe Lee fathered both Sam and Tommy? Hag. Muse. Web Goddess. Taurean. Tree Hugger. Poet. Professional Nerd. Geek.

Me too...I think they'll both be strong enough to work through it.

Not that I recall but that storyline has always made my eyes glaze over so they may have and I missed it. I blame Joe Lee's saggy dirty drawers.

It was clarified in the show. When Sam first meets the Mickens, his mother tells him that Joe Lee had just gone to jail when she found out she was preg with Sam. She gave Sam to the Merlottes hoping he'd have a better life. In Tommy's case, it's been said repeatedly that Joe Lee is Tommy's father.

OK... I think I'm developing a crush on actor Denis O'Hare. And I understand he's into black men, too, so...
Anyway... O'Hare as Russell going haywire on TV was a highlight of the entire season. I've been waiting for him to go nuts, and it looks like this was the moment. Still, despite True Blood putting the scary back in vampires, something is... missing. I think it's the reflective eyes. As strong as Russell's monologue was last night, just imagine how freaky it would've been if we got a closeup of Russell's angry face, some fang and glint of eyeshine showing, as he mentioned eating our children. It would have been terrifying! [Edited 8/16/10 14:51pm] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

Ohhh.. thanks I knew he was Tommy's dad -- well, in True Blood -- but wasn't sure if they made him Sam's, too..
I would explain the reasons why I asked, but don't want to give much away for those early into the books (Ball has changed a bit with these Mickens).. Hag. Muse. Web Goddess. Taurean. Tree Hugger. Poet. Professional Nerd. Geek.
