My Mom use to do this all the time...I haven't seen a letter from them in years.

When I got my first apartment I got Publishers Clearing House in the mail. With MY name on it...not my mom's. I thought I had arrived.

Hell no. Those fools are always trying to get people to buy magazines. If I can't pay any lottery OR sweepstake without being force to buy magazines beforehand, then f*** them.

when I was getting them in the '90s (when I finally had my own place after college), they dropped that as a requirement..

-- but I always got at least one in case they threw out entries of ppl who didn't buy..

Yeah, after some sort of big expose (if I remember correctly) they had to drop it.

I get stuff once in a while only. When my subsciptions run out and I'm looking for something. I never buy with every entry.

Their system is well designed tho. You gotta dig through that shit to find the stamps to return.
