Please. Listen. YOU CAN CHOOSE HOW YOU ACT. I am not forcing you to behave in any particular way. No, I am not making you do anything. IT'S UP TO YOU.

DO NOT make constant noise while I talk to you.

DO NOT try that emotional blackmail bullshit on me. Of course I love you! you KNOW that.

Your arguments make no sense.

I can't wait to see you soon though, you're my special guy too.

It's a random outburst thread. No names. Just outrage.

Listen, sweetheart. I do not ask people to reprint pages for the wall just because you change the price on one product. It's called "managing resources" - people and paper cost money, you twit. If I tell you I changed it, it's been changed...and you will see it the next time everything gets printed.

Until then...get.off.my.back!

It's not sanctimony, it's a heartfelt post. One of the best things that ever happened to me (amybe the BEST thing) was reading a book called "Prison to Praise". In one part of the book, the author is told by God to be thankful for everything that happens. Don't just thank God for the good things, or the blessings - if you believe He is in control, then He says to be thankful for EVERYTHING.

The author recounted how his life changed when he started doing this. I started doing it too, and it's AMAZING how your viewpoint on things change.

Nothing ever seems like an obstacle. And when tough things are thrown at me, if I can remember to thank God for them immediately (which is not easy to do), I solve the problems much faster and much better. Which leads to lots more happiness and good times.

Even if you're not a spiritual person, try giving thanks or being thankful for problems. At the very least, it will make whatever inconvenience thrown your way seem trivial, or easier to deal with.

And I make ALL the girls twitch, LOL.

Ummmm...okay. I wasn't talking to you.

The whole point of the thread is that the comments in it aren't directed at anyone, in particular.

That said, if you mean to tell me that, in your everyday life, you give a prayer of thanks every time you hear the person who sits next to you try to stuff an entire bag of potato chips into his face at one time (which happens to me pretty much every day), I will laugh in your face. Everyone suffers petty annoyances - and vents about them.

It just ain't that serious.

LOL, sorry - I thought that was directed at me.

Nah, I don't necessarily drop to my knees when someone belches next to me. The "bad stuff" I try to use this for are obstacles that get in my way of accomplishing something.

I'll tell you what, though. This exchange has given me an idea about how to handle some other stuff, so it's been just another one of God's gifts. Like musicology!

Gum cracking, flip-flops, and WHISTLING!

That sound goes straight up and down my spine.

On the first day of school, I TELL the kids they aren't allowed to whistle and will throw the gum out if I hear that sound. mad

Unfortunately I can't do anything about the footwear, or else this would be hanging in my classroom:

I had a professor for two university courses who would kick people out of lecture (and then out of his course) for chewing gum. To get back in, they had to see him during office hours, acknowledge their mistake, and agree not to do it again. lol
