I got a KITCHENAID STAND MIXER! Tell me what to make!

excited

I have the greatest mother-in-law ever.

She's funny, sweet, kind, AND will cut a bitch. Ask Jersey to tell you guys about the time she choked a bitch out at Bingo (yes, at Bingo. Badass!) for calling my father-in-law a name. falloff

ANYWAY, she told us to go over a family member's house to pick up a few things she'd left there for us.

When we got there, I could have sworn Santa Claus had just left. Because among some bedsheets and a lamp was this sleek, sexy, black-and-chrome baby right here:

drool

Guys, I have lusted after this thing for years. It does everything! It comes with more attachments than a Hitachi Magic Wand, and takes so much of the effort, headache and mess out of cooking and baking. I will be able to make even MORE awesome and fattening things with which to send my beloved hypertensive husband into an early grave. mushy

I can mix, knead and bake FOUR LOAVES OF BREAD at once without breaking a sweat!

If I were so inclined, I could grind my own meat and make my own fucking SAUSAGES with this thing.

There is an optional ICE CREAM MAKER attachment!

I'm so excited I can't hardly breathe.

SO TELL ME WHAT I SHOULD MAKE!

excited

I've wanted one of these for a while. I don't cook or bake much b/c I don't have a lot of patience, but I've been pretty successful with the recipes I've gotten. I always think this thing could increase my baking and cooking tremendously. Plus they have a purple one mushy

As far as what to make, you can make anything from this site you posted a while back, if you haven't made it all already. http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/

That food looks soooo good.

What you can/should make depends on the model. I have a Pro 6 - got it so I could make brioche. But I wouldn't attempt that with less than a 525-watt mixer.

It's an Artisan - 325 watts. I don't want to burn out the motor, so I won't try super-stiff or really hard to work with doughs.

You go! highfive

I bought my wife a Kitchenaid mixer a few years back as a present, But I've easily used it three times more than her making cookies and pies with my daughter. Our favorite is magnolia (buttermilk) pie with a mixed berry and whipped cream topping.

That's exactly what I was getting at. Brioche needs a half-hour knead at high speed. It'd be very easy to burn out a motor.

I love my Pro 6, but there are times when it's too big. So I still have a hand mixer for smaller jobs.

A lot of my friends have Artisans and love them. It's a great mixer that can handle almost everything. Congrats!

YES!!! I got one of those for Christmas last year and I LURRRRVE it! I've made cheesecakes, cookies, pies, cakes, frosting, everything sweet! And I too, have lusted over that thing for years! My man got extra "perks" for getting me this for Christmas! And also for the Wine club membership that I still get two bottles a month until 2011.

I have made ground chuck burgers with the grinding attachment. You can make some kick ass stuff with that thing!

The next thing I want to make are cinnamon rolls. You should do that too!

I made those last weekend at 2:30 AM!

With Nutella frosting since I didn't have any cream cheese. And beaten by hand since my electric beater was broken. (NOW I HAVE A FUCKING KITCHENAID!!!) They were delicious.

I never knew red velvet cake contained cocoa until I made that recipe.

It's what you make it.

This may be a boring suggestion, but I do Toll House cookies in mine a lot because it makes the mixing of the butter & sugar so easy.

I also use a grating attachment and shred potatoes to make hash browns
