I have a basic Acer netbook that I got last year when I had surgery. I must say, the prices are amazing, the size is wonderful for traveling, it's not a workhorse but for surfing the web and documents which is really all I do, it's been perfect! I am quite happy with using a netbook and will probably never go back to desk computer or larger laptops again. At these prices you can buy one every year if necessary.

One complaint: it's taking a while to master the keyboard (esp. the right shift key). But I think this is one of those new, bilingual Canadian keyboards , so your mileage may vary.

Y'know, I almost wish I'd seen this thread two hours ago, cuz I just went out and bought a new monitor that cost almost as much as the advertised price of that netbook.

But, at the risk of sounding like an old crank, I do feel kinda married to my PC. Sometimes I swear I can hear gears grinding when I boot it up, but I'm not quite ready to part with it.
