Is it Good Year? What about Michelin? I have to buy some new tires for my car and was just wondering. My family says Michelin is the best, but they are expensive as hell!!! But then again, new tires are expensive anyway.

Moreso than brand, I usually look to see the tread life on the tire compared to the cost. Would you rather buy a set of 4 tires for $300 that are only rated for 30,000 miles, or a set rated for 70,000 miles for $500? I'd go for the latter, as you get a set that lasts more than twice as long for less than double the price of the cheaper ones. But, of course, it all depends on your budget--it might not be as difficult to spring for $300 as it would be for $500.
