I loooooove Scrabble!
But I'm hell to play with, so nobody ever plays with me.
I'm a really sore loser when it comes to Scrabble. |

That's why I love Scrabble. It's as much a test (on multiple levels) as it is a game. Which is probably why some people don't like it so much.
And I'll be damned if Sorry! doesn't have cards. I swear we played it with dice. Kinda trippin' me out, actually. |

So did I! But FauxReal said it was cards, so I looked it up, and it is! I must be confusing it with another game, but I can't remember any others that l liked as much as Sorry!, or played as much as an adult. |

Errr. You sure about that? Not saying you're wrong. But I have a distinct memory of dice. Maybe I was just taught to play it wrong. I could pull it out and look, I guess.
My favorite is Trivial Pursuit, actually. But between Scrabble or Monopoly, I have to say Scrabble. I and my huge vocabulary can beat the shit of somebody. [Edited 7/8/10 12:17pm] We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves. |

It's a vocabulary, spelling and IQ test all rolled into one! Some people have a huge vocabulary, but couldn't properly spell half the words they know to save their lives (I'm about in the middle on that front myself without access to my trusty dictionary). Some people may be good at one or the other, or both, but their brains just don't "see" the words when combining what they have in front of them with what's on the boards. It's a great game that one.
Sometimes I love Trivial Pursuit, sometimes it just bores the crap out of me. Gotta have the right group of people in the right environment to play that one. To be honest, I get as much enjoyment out of just pulling cards and asking questions to the room as I do actually playing the game(s). |

Scrabble. And I always sandbag with new people. I won all the spelling bees in school so I always win. The only person who has ever beaten me is my son. And only by a couple of points. And we also always watch Jeopardy together. He's only beaten me once.

I'm a champeen speller, too. And I know all kinds of little, obscure words using Q, Z and X.

Positive. I play it with my daughter a few times a month probably. All movement is based on cards (unless there is some new-fangled version I do not know about).
Perhaps you're thinking of Trouble

like both games but have to give it scrabble - as monopoly can drag on a bit. "I know that living with u baby, was sometimes hard...but I'm willing 2 give it another try.
Cause nothing compares....nothing compares 2 u!" |
