Here in L.A. we're getting an extension of a local weather pattern called "June Gloom", overcast skies and cool tempatures no higher then 76-80 degrees. I feel for ya guys on the East Coast, hopefully it will be over soon.

Just as hot in upstate NY, too.

This is like 'Oklahoma in May" weather. Imagine this heat when still in school with no A/C. In fact, it's a scientific fact that humidity was invented in Oklahoma. lol

I thought it was funny the other day when the local weather guy said, "We're in a BONAFIDE heatwave!" They literally had those words on the screen. Too funny. didn't think "bonafide" was a technical term in meteorology. Doesn't mean I like the heat, but I'm used to it. Feels like home.

We never had air conditioning in the schools the whole time I was in school. They have it in schools now but what trips me out, is they let the little spoiled brats go home when the air conditioning breaks down. lol

I was just thinking the same thing. We never had air conditioning the whole time I was in elementary, middle and high school. Hell, my parents didn't get central air until the early 80's and they had our house built in '59. In school it wasn't bad because it didn't get really hot until July and schools closed for summer vacation in mid June.

We never had A/C when I lived in the projects in the 60s/early 70s. Shit, the subways had no A/C either, but those big overhead ceiling fans.

Wish I was there, its winter here in Auckland. Currently its 12c (54f) and clear, but we have frosts, condensation, low sun, chill winds and sunset at 5.18pm.

Enjoy it guys, I would give my left arm for it to be 38 degrees celsius here at the moment.

So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

I'm in NJ, not too far from Newark, where it hit 103F (39.5C)....

I worked all morning in a century-old school building with no air conditioning, then got in a car with no air. I think I lost 15lbs in sweat... whew

(At least my air was fixed last Thursday at home.)

WOW. Poor you, guys.

It´s hot over here in Europe as well. We are over 30C and the forecast says we may "look forward" to 35C.
