I am all for being humble. I'm probably the most humble person on this planet. However, sometimes it's ok to take a moment to look at yourself and recognize what you're doing right, why you're quite a cool person that people around you appreciate. So, what's good about you? I know there are some things, but I forget, so remind me.

What makes you quintessentially 'you' (in a good way)? Are you awesome? In what way? You start. I want to reach nirvana all by myself so I won't fall into the trap of blowing my own horn on a website telling folks how great I am. Anyway, what's good about you? What do you do well in this whole 'life' thing we're doing?

I make my friends laugh - sometimes intentionally, sometimes not.

Speed knitting. No question about it.

I think I'm starting to learn balance pretty well. Balance in all things. That sweet spot of never going too far over one direction or the other. Like, I exercise regularly, but I eat the yummiest sweets now and again. I don't drink much anymore, but I can still go out and have a good time when I decide I want to. I can be far too cynical for my own good, but I still find wonder and beauty in the world. <- OK, that's totally cheesy, but I was sincere about it too.

So yes - that's something I like about myself that I think is pretty good.

Oh - and I am generally good at putting together an outfit.

I also support the threads of my friends, no matter how lame they are. Right, Dan?

No, it's not cheesy. I get it, I totally get it (not like these other ppl posting. I think they're internet trolls or fishing for compliments or something, but don't tell them ok? I like to come across as open and accepting of all people). I think I'm the same way, that is, re finding wonder and beauty in the world while being cynical. I'm cynical for kicks, because it amuses my brain and keeps me ticking over, and also in a practical sense so that I don't get shafted up the ass by everybody at every opportunity, but in general I'll take a bit of that shafting, I'll even smile while it's happening, because I believe people are inherently good, and because flowers look nice. They just plain look nice, Carrie. How could anybody say otherwise? They do. Life isn't just alright, it's spectacular. There's something amazing at every turn, be it a girl with a memorable fringe who lost lawd knows how many pounds, to Ivy, to Val, to my nephew, my wife who could kick Dan's ass twice while in a mini-skirt and stupidly high heels and with drink in hand. You're right. It's all about balance. I shit on the world, sure. But that world is so adorable, I could just eat it right up, shit and all.
