What makes a city livable to you?

We all know the general concerns for livable cities: schools, diversity, walkability, etc.

But what are your opinions on what makes a city livable?

For me, there has to be a beach nearby. I could never fathom being confined to using a swimming pool all the time. (like in the image below)

I need greenery....I couldn't live in a city that is mostly concrete.

Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

What makes a city livable to me is not being right in amongst it, being somewhere more green and with a village feel, but close enough to all the shopping, entertainment and arts venues. I love the specific location I live in, but I've thought about how I'd feel about it if it were transplanted to somewhere up-country away from a major city and I don't think I'd want to live here in that case. I love the liveliness and vibrancy of Bangkok, the chaos, the hustle and bustle, and all the many, many people going about their lives. For a me a city needs this, being huge and busy and full of energy. I just want it at arm's length, is all, not nearer or farther, so it needs nice suburbs (and I don't mean those tacky modern enclosed villages they have all around the edge of Bkk).

MY COUSIN WORKS IN A PHARMACY AND SHE SAID THEY ENEMA'D PRANCE INTO OBLIVION WITH FENTONILS!!

All of the above...And, I love it that I can leave my house open to run an errand or two. It's that safe.

I still prefer to live in a city, but now after having lived in the tropical rain forest for half a year, for the first time in my life I could imagine to not live in a city too.

With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

I guess for me it's mostly who I am with where I am and not where I am. I can adjust to situations as long as I am with someone I love.

A thriving theatre community with directors who want to cast me.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

thumbs up!

My man would be willing to try to live in a big European city with me and tells me he will be okay. I doubt that he would be happy, I don't evn have a balcony, but if it happens that we will live here I just hope for the best pray.
