What kind of tattoos do you NOT LIKE?

I generally don't care for Prince symbol tattoos. I have no clue why, but I've never liked them.

I also don't like 'names' of people tattood on someone.

Oh, and I hate any type of tattoo around the belly button on men. It just screams sissy bottom boy (yes, I know I'm stereotyping) to me, and it's a turnoff.

I also am not terribly fond of chain-link/barbwire tattoos like the one on this woman below:

And you?

What types of tattoos do you not like?

How many times are you going to use that poor woman´s picture for your random topics? lol

I don´t like tatoos with pictures of people, tribal design tattoos, Chinese stuff ( and when you ask those fools what their tats mean, they come up with stuff like : "It´s Chinese for `strength`." or whatever.....I have yet to see a real Chinese person with one of those ridiculuos tatoos. And why on Earth anybody would choose Chinese letters to be on his or her body is totally beyond me.

That being said, I´ve seen and touched some really beautiful bodies with Chinese tattoos on them.

I also dislike religious motives and political shit, like having a Che Guevara or Mao Tse Tung or whatever picture or quote on your body....simply not cool and besides, you never know what those people REALLY were like in their private lives, so why honor somebody you´ve never met by having his picture on your body?

See Mike Tyson....he probably no longer studies his Mao Tse Tung like he used to do. He just did it to piss off people, and he admitteted to that during an interview.

I don´t like tattoos in general because your body changes significantly over the years but I must admit that I don´t mind tattoos while the bearer still looks young.

Some Japanese and Maori tattoos are really beautiful.

I don't care for them, in general.

That said, I don't understand how people can get multiple tattoos that have fuck-all to do with one another. Get a theme, people!

I used to think the Japanese tats were over-the-top, but having seen some absolutely gorgeous young, Japanese men here with those tats, I can see the artistic appeal--I don't even mean that in a sexual way either.

Yeah, we both aren´t into tattoos, but we also both agree on the importance of a theme when it comes to tattoos. Got to have a theme if you want to have a tattoo. lol

to be honest, i think ALL tattoos are tacky.

have you ever seen an old woman or man with ancient tats?? BAD news, dude. tats do not age well.

also, they grow tired rather quickjly. once you've seen the tat, it's just there, another inkblot on someone's skin. supposed to be impressive, but usually not so. esPECially now that everyone and their granny has a tat

fresh, unprinted skin is more intersting, imo. looks better too.

HENNA is cool, i like the semi-permanent way of it. washable, changeable, and fades over time.

I'm not opposed to tattoos (I have one myself in a private place), but I think most tattoos are unnecessary and a little tacky. Tats on the face & breasts are awful. Tats that are plain blue/black are ugly. Tats on the lower back (tramp stamp) are yesterdays news and tats that have some tribal or asian symbols are terrible. Some people go way too far and look like freaks - just my opinion. Tattoos can be very attractive and beautiful, but some people just don't know when to stop.

I don't like tattoos, for the reasons named, but mainly because I don't like the permanence of them. When my female students ask my opinion, I always say, "Think of that same design on someone my age." Their response is usually eek

And "tramp stamps" shake

People can tattoo whatever they like on themselves. They're the one who has to wear it, so it makes no real difference to anyone else what the image or design is.

That said, I am really not a fan of trendy tattoos. Body art, like so many other things, is subject to fads. Nothing is going to date you or your ink faster than having the same thing every other trendwhore schmuck got that year.

A well-done piece of ink from today is not going to age the same way those older ones did. Sure, it will fade over time, but due to the improved quality in ink, machines, and technique modern tattoos will never look like Grandpa's WWII blobby green battle ink.

But the question was what kind of tattoos do we not like. That's what we've been answering.

What design someone else gets IS their business, but the question is what we like.

Sooner or later employers will have no staff.

Over 60% of Canadians under age 30 have visible piercings and tattoos. That's a hell of a lot of the jobforce companies will stupidly be denying themselves. Nothing like a shit-for-brains to run a company, eh?

I would NEVER hire a person who had tattoos on their face or excessive tats showing (hands, neck, etc.).

Business is image. Image is everything. Right or wrong, a business minded person has to think about image, and tattoos will never become so ubiquitous as to be that acceptable in a business forum. Tats have been around as long as makeup--excessive displays of either is never appropriate in business.
