Congratulations to the South Carolina Gamecocks for bringing home the

NCAA baseball championship to my hometown. It's the school's first

major title in sports. Excellent game tonight 2-1 11 innings.

I'm from SC, too. I got accepted to USC earlier this year, but went with a different (cheaper) school.

congrats Cocks....it's always good when an SEC team represents well and even better when they bring home a championship...

I'm not up to date anymore about the gamecocks.

We always jumped over the fence of my moms yard and walked straight to the gamecocks practice field.

We hung out with Heisman winner George Rogers in the day.

That's the biggest sportsidol I ever had there with Enim Farqwarson or something.(don't know how to spell it)The coolest baseball player there in the 70's.

Now I just remember "go cocks" or "Go clemson ..go....goto hell" LOL

George was really great to us kids back then.

I remember I used to work concessions during Carolina football games in high

school. I got to see a lot of talented players come through like Dan Marino, Mark Bavarro,

Herschel Walker. George was very friendly and didn't have a problem signing autographs.

I used to play ball with George and Xavier Mc Daniel often at the Solomon Blatt P.E Center.

ps.I went to Bradley and AC moore and a little USC...was to expensive..LOL

When George won the Heisman we saw him on practice field a couple of days later.

We asked autograph and he said: I signed 5000 autographs this weekend..come on guys..

He did it anyway and was sweet as hell!

As one of the Org's "sandlappers" (nickname for South Carolina residents), I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Gamecocks. The program has only won one other NCAA Championship, in Women's Track, and we in SC have been starving for some positive recognition, especially since all of our politicians seem to be nymphomanic bigots.
