My co-worker's daughter's apartment was infected with bedbugs. They fumigated the whole building. I haven't heard how well it worked.

Not to sond like a downer, but exterminators in the US do not have a good way to deal with bedbugs. BY law, they are unable to use a very effective chemical, and what they do have does not work that well. My wife and I first started to deal with bedbugs in 2005 after a trip to a hotel in florida. We spent over $1,000 dollars with an exterminator in the first year, with little or no effect. We have tried MANY over the counter and online products and while the number of them has decreased, we still occasionally find one. Moving to a different room is not recommended as they may leave the area in search of food, or go into a hibernative state. They thing we found to work the best was a very good mattress cover that zips closed. Good luck

there are plenty of available, effective chemicals for pest control services to use in the US, that's hardly the problem...the majority of chemicals available to the pest control industry are more than effective, it's their application that would render them ineffective...
the issue with bedbugs is finding and attacking them where they reside...it's way more profitable and less time consuming for these companies to not follow the necessary procedures to effectively exterminate them...bed bugs hide in the most minute of areas, cracks & crevices that if left untreated will allow them to live and breed limitlessly...
if a pest control service spends anything less than a full day treating a room for bedbugs, then they're simply going through the motions and either do not know what they're doing or are padding their pockets with the return visits they know they'll be making and charging for... treatment for bedbugs is hard work, time consuming and expensive...a reputable company experienced in bedbug treatment will have an outlined plan...if it doesn't involve a full room teardown, treating all crack & crevices of walls, furniture, beds, frames, mattresses, etc; then that company will not rid you of your bedbug problem...
some pest control services now employ dogs as a way to sniff out bedbugs...it's proven to work...

Bed Bugs are HORRIBLE. I met them one time in a hotel while I was taking a class. I turned on the shower way hot while I was working out. They were all over. I've been freaked out ever since.
I think I saw the same special mentioned above where in Ohio (Cleveland) they have rampant infestations. Once you get a few, you get a ton, and they're near impossible to completely exterminiate. The solution they used was to use an intense dry heat throughout the entire house. The increase in temperature plus the incredibly arid conditions killed the bugs as well as the eggs.
GOOD LUCK! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

in New York City bed bugs are running rampant. they are everywhere and they don't discriminate. also when i was walking across the country i stayed at a motel that had them pretty bad. it was horrible and i feel for you.
this works.. http://www.dirtworks.net/...d-Bug.html
it is called earth dirt. it is a bit expensive on this site but i found that if you goto a pet store they have it there for your pets pretty cheap.
it gets ride of them effectively.
Good luck.
