nah, I mean I guess it's a little surprising b/c we in the US hardly ever hear about Tasmania

I think first intro to it for most kids here is via the Tazmanian Devil/Taz character from Bugs Bunny reruns... I've always loved geography so when I was little, I was curious and looked it up in our "World Book" encyclopedias (yay, the pre-Internet era! )..
