I can post just as useless a thread as IceNine does, but it seems everyone runs to his threads to post and gives him 5 stars every time! I am not a jealous chick but some less known thread posters have really post good threads (I am not talking about me!) and they never get half the chance or look in...

Here here Red, Ur right, Ive read and seen some really thought out and intelligent threads which seem 2 be overlooked. I think if someone writes an intelligent/thoughtful/interesting thread then they should get some recognition.

In all seriousness though, different people have different senses of humor. There are some people who find what I say amusing and there are some who don't. I have had a good number of threads that just sat there stinking like a dog turd on a finely manicured lawn... that means that they stunk and they stood out!

My book threads go nowhere, my movie threads die a cruel death, my thread devoted to Giovanni died like a puppy with canine cancer... I could go on and on.

People simply respond to threads of mine that they either love or hate.

The way I understand the dynamics here on the org, is by likening .org to a school yard. There was always the in crowd at school. The in crowd thrive on humour, loudness and are not afraid to speak their mind. The in crowd is usually a large crowd, yes? And they are tight knit and stick together, back each other up etc.

I believe there is a large in crowd here. From the little I do know of group dynamics, a person who wants to get to know the in crowd, won't be able to just join in with a similar voice to the crowd... I believe to join the in crowd, a certain amount of conscious or subconscious negotiation has to take place. An asking to be accepted on some level...

I think people here reveal certain parts of themselves, as they feel comfortable. I feel really comfortable with sharing a lot of my deepest self. Some people reply to threads with emoticons, some with wit, some with... and so on, and so on... my point being, that I feel that sometimes, serious discussions/my interests don't have a lot in common with other peoples interests and I therefore feel out of the in gang and not really part of a group. I don't have a problem with being individual. I guess I feel that I'm able to get more out of this experience if other people are giving me feedback and if I give feedback too. And sometimes that happens, sometimes it does not...

I know what you are saying here, about people not getting recognition for something that they have shared which seems really interesting to you, or the same as Ice but is not as popular. Yet, by posting what you have, saying what you feel about this, I think that is the point of focus that carries value and worth and that will be recognised. Not everyone will recognise it or want to comment on it, yet, your point is recognised and appreciated by me and I'm sure others
