We have been seeing each other for quite a while. he says he wont marry me cause of my horribel mouth. Under pressure, i have been known to snap, curse, go just off, even to my own detriment... His family is very sweet and kind, and i am not. I have respect for people most times, I'm educated, i just happened to have learned family values later in life.

I know you cant change yourself for other people, but i need to know if i can control my own anger, or if i should take classes, or am i just screwed, ..cause not only do i need it for a relationship, but my communication skills have limited me in life as well...

And if he thinks that (which we already know he is since apparently he wants you to CHANGE before he even proposes ) then you don't need him girl. If cussing now and then (I do this myself now and then...sure I'm a little crazy too but any guy who tells me it's not acceptable to him needs to step) bothers him that damn bad then let him TRY and find a woman who's little miss calm and quiet 24/7. I say move on...if it wouldn't had been your cursing then it would be something else. Those type men are just miserable and have plenty of insecurities themselves.

My husband is currently seeing a councilor about his temper…so far so good, and yes I think some people can change, but they just have to really want to do it.

But, to reiterate; the most important part of this thread is you brought up what you obviously feel is something to pay attention to, at the very least--your temper and how quickly you go off, as well as the words you use to go off.........

Like many said, if you feel the need may be to change, do it for you. So many people don't address this very thing--anger/language, and then they wonder why they don't keep a job, or get hired, or are not treated with respect...
